One could call this victory a long-time-in-the-making. Milan Lady Indians Head Coach Bob Bressert noted that the win broke a 19 game losing streak by Lady Indian teams of the past to the hosting Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels. (Not to be mistaken, Coach Bressert has not been there for an extended period; merely a MHS vs. SwH girls basketball record.) That being said, he has led the Lady Indians through some tough lean years and is proud to see the team finally stepping up and knocking down some old unfortunate memories.

The Lady Indians varsity traveled to Southwestern Hanover High School for a single varsity match-up, with SwH not fielding a JV team. The tribe led at every juncture of the contest, finalizing their victory with a seven point, 52-45 advantage at the final horn's sounding.
