Lady Eagles recapture Traveling Pride Trophy from Lady Raiders
Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles battle to a 41-38 victory over SR Lady Raiders

The opening round of the 2017-18 Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles verses South Ripley Lady Raider basketball game rekindled the rivalry between the local schools, coaches, players and their fans once again. JCD's controlling of the opening center court tip off at the Eagles Nest on Saturday, November 11 in Varsity game action found 5' 11'' Lady Eagle junior Mariah Day delivering the tip, over SR Lady Raider senior Kiley Sparks, to senior teammate Lily Simon. However, a failure of Head Coach Scott Smith's JCD Lady Eagles to capture first points led to a 5-0 run by Head Coach Brian Samples South Ripley Lady Raiders. It appeared the visiting Lady Raiders were off to a dominating series opener. However that lead did not dictate the entirety of the game, and the final horn had not yet sounded! When it did, JCD left the home court victorious with a three point, 41-38 count.
