Kenneth Jackson


Kenneth Jackson, 90, of Osgood, passed away at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg. He was born at Versailles on May 1, 1926, the son of Marshall and Estelle Fox Jackson. Kenneth married Pauline Schearer on November 1, 1945, in Indianapolis and she preceded him in death on March 4, 1998.

Survivors include one son, James (Reyna) and two daughters, Joyce (Gene) Wagner and Jeanne (Bob) DeBurger all of Osgood; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and one brother, Marion Jackson of Terre Haute. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three sisters, Neva Rea, Naomi Ruth Carter and Margaret Estel Jobst; two brothers, Willard Samuel and Hubert Jackson.

Mr. Jackson worked for International Harvester in Indianapolis, but his true love was working with wood as a general carpenter and as a farmer for William Neal Sr., Doug Thayer and Greg Wehr and as well as his own farm. Kenneth was a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held Monday, February 6 at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Kidney Foundation, Tanglewood Cemetery, Fishes and Loaves Community Food Pantry in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
