Doris V. Bloom


Doris V. Bloom, 99, of Moores Hill, passed away at her home Thursday, February 2, 2017. Doris was born Monday, April 23, 1917 in Dearborn County, the daughter of Harry and Otta (Bedunnah) Schultz. Doris married Preston “Pat” Bloom March 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1999.

Doris was a busy lady being a homemaker and working on the farm. She also worked several years at P&G in Cincinnati. Doris enjoyed reading, gardening, nature and wild life. She enjoyed bird watching, cooking and was very artistic. She loved collecting ceramics and statues of red cardinal birds.

Doris is survived by sons, Andrew Preston (Maria) Bloom of Dayton, Ohio; Harry James (Patricia) Bloom of Moores Hill; daughter, Linda Jean (Joseph) Rodriguez of Moores Hill; sister Bonnie Jean Silverstein of Columbus, Ohio; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 7 at the Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church with Pastor La Jo Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be given to the Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church through the funeral home. Audrey Louise Thola McClain


Audrey Louise Thola McClain, age 88, formerly of Osgood, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. She had presently resided in Greensburg. Audrey was born April 22, 1928 in Covington, Kentucky, to the late Howard and Elenora McLafferty Thola. On April 22, 1949, she married Roscoe R. McClain and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2003.

From 1971 -1975 she had worked as a Ripley County deputy assessor; from 1975-1980 she had served as Ripley County deputy treasurer and lastly had served as the Osgood clerk-treasurer from 1980-1988. Shortly after her career, she and her husband moved to Palmetto, Florida where they were able to enjoy their retirement years together. During this time, she became a member of Palm View Bible Church. Following the loss of her husband and later as her health declined, she moved back to Indiana and resided in Greensburg.

Audrey is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be no services.


Doris W. Mounts

Doris W. Mounts, 91, of Milan, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at her home. Doris was born Friday, March 6, 1925 at Elrod, the daughter of Morris and Pearl (Elliott) Stevens. She was married to Kenneth Mounts, who survives. Doris attended the Cornerstone Baptist Church and the Moores Hill Senior Center.

Doris is survived by sons, Paul Doyle of Milan, Anthony Wiltberger and daughter Carolyn Arcuri both of Albany, New York; stepchildren Linda (Donnie) Stall and Virgil Mounts both of Milan, Brenda (Bill) Gains of Frankfort, Ky., Rodger (Meggie) Mounts of Orlando, Florida and Norman (Clara) Mounts of Hartford, 10 step grandchildren and 15 step great grandchildren; sisters Genelle Henderson of Dillsboro, Darleen Lambert of Fairfield, Ohio, and Virginia Custer of Milan.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Pastor Rick Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation will also be Tuesday from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials made be made to the Moores Hill Senior Center. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Charlene K. Rockey

Charlene K. Rockey, age 66, of Jeffersonville, formerly of Madison, died on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Hillcrest Village in Jeffersonville. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, Madison.


Bonnie Jo Wright

Bonnie Jo Wright, 69, of Dillsboro, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2017. Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Monday, February 6 at Filter-DeVries Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Jean Stute, 96, of Frankfort, and formally of Milan, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Frankfort. Arrangements will be announced at a later date. Laws-Carr-Moore, Milan, is entrusted with arrangements.
