Dennis Wayne Conard, M.D.

Dennis Wayne Conard, M.D., age 63, of Hanover, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison. Born August 25, 1954 in Indianapolis, he was the son of Don L. and Jeanette (Hoeppner) Conard.

After graduating from Southwestern High School in Hanover, he completed both his undergraduate and doctoral studies at Indiana University Bloomington. Before retiring in 2009, he served as a medical physician at Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Kentucky. Dr. Conard previously worked at King’s Daughters’ Hospital in Madison and Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He served in the United States Navy’s SEAL Team retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. He was a member of the Friendship Legion and Hanover United Methodist Church. He loved taking care of his cat, Tinker Bell, scuba diving, biking, coaching, and spending time with his children.

Dr. Conard will be sadly missed by his son, Jonathon “Tyler” Whitam Conard of Indianapolis; his daughters: Jordan Taylor Conard, Rilie Paige Conard, Morgan Olivia Faith Conard, and Harper Rose Conard, all of New Albany, Indiana; his sister, Nancy Keller of Indianapolis; his brothers: Donald David Conard of Brownsburg, Indiana, Richard Conard and his wife, Joan, and Jack Conard and his wife, Betty, all of Indianapolis; and his nieces and nephews: Kristen Conard, Michael Conard, Kevin Conard, Kelsy Mills, Trenton Mills, and Hunter Alcorn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, September 21 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison Hilltop, with interment to follow in Brooksburg Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service on Thursday.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Contributions may be made at any of the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service locations. Online condolences may be made at www.lytlefuneralhomes.com.


Justin Dale George

Justin Dale George, 37, of Madison, passed away at 10:10 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2017 as the result of an automobile accident near Madison. He was born in Cincinnati on June 10, 1980.

Survivors include his mother and step-father Carol Sue (Furlow) and Steven Owens of Madison; two brothers Christopher George and his fiancé Paula McConnell of Holton, and Chad George of Madison; also his nieces and nephews Barry, Dakota, and Breanna George. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents George and Phyllis Furlow. Mr. George had formerly worked as a mechanic for Tom Tepe Chevrolet.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 23 at 10 a.m. at the New Marion Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
