South Ripley Lady Raiders win Ripley County Tournament 51-48 against Batesville Lady Bulldogs

The South Ripley Lady Raiders battled to win game two 38-36 against JCD. The Lady Raiders went on to the Championship Game to battle against the Batesville Lady Bulldogs to win the Ripley Co. Tournament 51-48.

Game 1
The annual varsity girls' RCT held at JCDHS on Tuesday evening, January 2, found the opening tournament battle on the Eagles' hardwood between the Coach Darrick Cox led Batesville Lady Bulldogs and the Milan Lady Indians behind Coach Bob Bressert.
With the Lady Bulldogs playing to a 24 point, 55-31 victory, they punched their ticket into the Championship game slated for Friday evening, January 5, between either SR or JCD.

Game 2 of opening night action, between the SR Lady Raiders and the hosting JCD Lady Eagles emerged to be the battle expected and hoped for by their coaches and fans. A mere two points difference at the end of game 2 38-36 resulted in the Lady Raiders advancing to and claiming the RCT Championship title over the Batesville Lady Bulldogs 51-48.
The SR Lady Raiders avenged their November 11, loss to the Lady Eagles with their two point, 38-36 victory, after Lady Eagle Lilly Simon fouled out with just 14.8 ticks left on the clock.
A third and final heated battle between these two rival squads is set for January 23rd at South Ripley HS.
