John L. Godsey

John L Godsey, 86, of Lawrenceburg, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2014. He was born September 23, 1927 in Hardburly, KY, the son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Morgan) Godsey.

John was a veteran of the US Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Milan Legion Post #235; Milan Masonic Lodge #31; Scottish Rite; Milan Baptist Church; and the 40 Et 8. He retired from Fernald after 37 years as a machinist.

He is survived by his loving wife, Irene Godsey of Lawrenceburg; daughter, Dottie Blackwell of Lawrenceburg; brother, Robert Godsey of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Robert (Rachel) Blackwell, John (Nicole) Blackwell; and three great grandchildren, Nolan, Morgan, and Lucas.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert E Godsey; mother, Elizabeth Godsey; son, Robert Vernon Godsey; and son-in-law, Steve Blackwell.

Funeral services were held at Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, on Monday, May 12 with Pastor Tim Russell officiating. Interment followed in the Craven Old Cemetery, Milan. Contributions may be made to the Greendale First Church of Christ or American Cancer Society. Fitch-Denney Funeral Home, Lawrenceburg, was in charge of arrangements.


John Sharp

John F. Sharp, 68, of the New Point/Batesville area passed away Monday, May 12, 2014. Visitation will be Sunday, May 18, from 5-8 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville. Funeral services will be Monday, May 19 at 10:30 a.m. followed by the military services all at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Batesville United Methodist Church, Breast Cancer or to the family to help offset expenses c/o the funeral home. Meyers Funeral Home, Batesville, is in charge of arrangements.


Phyllis C. Norman

Phyllis C. Norman, 78, of Milan, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m., Friday at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan. Burial will be in St. Paul Methodist Cemetery South of Sunman. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to donor’s choice.
