Jerry Badgett
Jerry, 70, beloved husband to Janet (nee Ryan), passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Jerry leaves behind his children, Michelle (John) Bays, Lori Badgett and Buck (Becky) Badgett; grandchildren, Nicki, Johnny, Andrew and Zachary Bays, B.J., Blake and Brody Badgett. Jerry retired from the Reading Police Department after 27 years and was a member of the Masons. Visitation will be held Friday, February 10, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with funeral service at noon at Schmidt-Dhonau-Kucner Funeral Home in Reading. Willie H. Castle
Willie H. Castle, 78, of Cross Plains, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville. He was born at West Liberty in Morgan County, Kentucky on June 16, 1933, the son of John S. and Tybytha Engle Castle. He was married to Rita Williams on May 9, 1953 and she survives. Other survivors include five daughters, Sandy (Kevin) Hensley of Versailles, Deborah Brock of Greensburg, Barbara Mason of Corbin, Kentucky, and Angela Abrams and Lori Castle both of Cross Plains; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and one step great grandchild; two sisters, Beulah McGee of Florida and Mary K. Lumpkins of West Liberty, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Bruce Sutton, Jr., son-in-law William Brock, his brothers Virgil, Denzil, and Robert Castle, and his sister Edith Burchett. Mr. Castle was retired from Thomas & Skinner in 1999 after 28 years with the company where he worked as a floor manager in Indianapolis and Osgood. Willie was also a farmer and attended the Cross Plains Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Logan Fugate officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Cemetery at Cross Plains. Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Salem Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
Sandra J. Sumner
Sandra J. Sumner, 73, of Madison, passed away Saturday, January 21, 2012. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 11, at 11 a.m. at the Madison Presbyterian Church. Family and friends may gather from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Memorials may be given to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Jefferson County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and the church. Lytle Funeral Chapel, Madison, is entrusted with arrangements.

Mary Redwine, 97, of Dillsboro, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Waters of Dillsboro. A complete obituary will be published in Tuesday’s paper by Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.
Daniel Charles Brunner
Daniel Charles Brunner, age 53 of Napoleon, passed away Monday,
January 2, 2012 at his home. He was born May 6, 1958 in Batesville,
to the parents of Charles Irvin and Ethel Crowell Brunner. Both
are deceased.
Daniel had been employed at the Newpoint Stone Company in Napoleon.
He also had worked for Jeff Meinders of Milan, in excavating and
construction and earlier for Johannigman Excavating & Construction
Inc. of Greensburg. In his earlier years he was a truck driver
for Batesville Casket Company. Daniel was a life time member of
NRA and also a member of ABATE .
Survivors include brothers, James "Milt" (Ona) Peetz
of Napoleon, Thomas Richard (Patricia) Peetz of Batesville, and
John "Pink" Peetz of Napoleon; sisters, Susan Ann (Rocky)
White of Napoleon and Charlotte Adele (Boyd) Vanover of Batesville.
Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at Neal's
Funeral Home, Osgood. Funeral services will be held Friday, January
6, at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, doors open at 9 a.m. Burial
will be in the St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery of Napoleon.
Memorials may be given to the Margaret Mary Hospice, Napoleon
Fire Department, St. Maurice Church Building Fund or donors
choice. Arrangements are entrusted to Neal's Funeral Home, Osgood.
