Batesville Bulldogs win 94th Annual Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament
58-33 against Jac-Cen-Del

The 94th annual Ripley County Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament found little less than the expected outcome with Head Coach Aaron Garrett's 3A Batesville Bulldogs once again handily grasping the prized Crown for 2018.
Boys Varsity RCT
The annual Varsity Boys RCT, hosted by Batesville High School, got underway following the center court tip at 6PM on Wednesday, January 3, with action between the Batesville Bulldogs and the Milan Indians led by Head Coach Josh Blankinship.
The Bulldogs played to a 36 point, 64-28 victory, as they punched their ticket into the Championship game slated for Saturday evening, January 6, that would follow the Consolation match and the presentation of the Ripley County Basketball Hall of Fame 2018 Inductee Class recognition. In a nutshell, Coach Garrett's Bulldogs claimed the RCT Crown in the Championship game over the Head Coach Travis Stangland led Jac-Cen-Del Eagles 58-33.
The Milan Indians battled to a 23 point, 71-48 victory over the South Ripley Raiders in the evening's opening 2018 Boys Varsity RCT Consolation action.

Boys Varsity RCT
Game 2
Game 2 of opening night Boys Varsity action was between rival Head Coach Travis Wrightsman's South Ripley Raiders and the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles. Their first meeting early on in the season on November 21 at= JCDHS resulted in a 60-51, nine point Raider victory over the JCD Eagles.
The Eagles avenged that loss during RCT action. JCD held on to take the four point, 66-62 victory over the Raiders to advance to Championship action against the hosting Bulldogs.
A third battle of the season between the rival Raider and Eagle squads is slated on Friday, February 23 at South Ripley High School, right before 2018 IHSAA Sectional action begins.
