Milan celebrates senior night with win over Shawe 77-43
Zac Minnich receives Co-William Tiny Hunt Memorial Boys Basketball Award

The Milan Indians hosted the Shawe Hilltoppers, Madison, on Feb. 20 where the Tribe claimed victory with a final score of 77-43. Since Shawe did not have a JV team the Jac-Cen-Del JV competed against Milan where the final score was Milan 62, JCD 42. Between games, MHS recognized 22 seniors including boys basketball players, cheerleaders, drill team and band members.

Also as part of the festivities, the 37th annual Ripley Publishing Co. Inc. William (Tiny) Hunt Memorial Boys Basketball Excellence Award was awarded by Sports Editor Gary Franklin.

Senior boy basketball players in good standing among the Jac-Cen-Del Eagle, Milan Indian and South Ripley Raider are eligible for the award. This year the voting process resulted in two individuals earning the esteemed honor, therefore a first time ever Co-Wm. (Tiny) Hunt Award.

Milan Indian senior Zachariah Minnich was named one of the selected Co-Award earners for 2018, with the other Boy and the Girls Basketball Excellence Award earner to be disclosed at a later date. The following 12 senior boys were eligible for the award this year.

Varsity action
The tribe varsity watched their run away lead all but disappear as they fell to a mere one point edge at 19-18 at the 6:27 mark in the second period, before re-ignighting for lift off and the 34 point, 77-43 victory at the final horn's sounding, with their entire bench getting final homestand playing time.
