Tamera Lee (Allen) Moore


Tamera Lee (Allen) Moore, 56, of Versailles, entered this life on June 14, 1959 in Shelbyville, the loving daughter of the late, Ivan D. and Doris L. (Turner) Allen. She was raised in Versailles where she was a 1977 graduate of the South Ripley High School.

Tamera worked in banking her entire adult life. She was currently employed by the Napoleon State Bank in Osgood. She was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Holton. Tamera loved going to the beach where she vacationed as often as possible. She also enjoyed shopping and spending time with her family and friends who filled her life with joy.

Tamera will be dearly missed by her loving children, grandchildren, siblings, aunt, nieces, nephews and cousins. Tamera passed away with her loving family by her side at 8:54 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016, at her residence in Versailles. Tamera will be dearly missed by her son Daniel Moore & his wife Janel of Casper, WY; her daughters Kari Moore of Versailles and Kristi Moore of Raleigh, NC; her grandchildren MaKayla Bell, Taneil Bell and Kristen Feeback who lovingly knew her as Gramcracker; her great grandson Layton Schmidt; her sisters Carolyn Scott of Shelbyville, Vickie Coy & her husband Steve of Shelbyville; her brother Richard “Jack” Stonebraker & his wife Joyce of Virginia Beach, VA; her aunt Anita Sipler & her husband Clyde of Long Beach, MS and her several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan D. Allen, died December 24, 2007 and Doris L. (Turner) Allen, died August 25, 1999; and her brother David Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 10, at 10 a.m., by Pastor Ty Choate, at the Hopewell Baptist Church, 2319 North County Road 850 North, Holton, Indiana 47023. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery, Holton. Friends may call frm 5-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, at the church. Tamera had a passion for Operation Christmas Child and the family request donations be made in memory to the Hopewell Baptist Church OCC Fund. Cards are available at the funeral home.


Frank W. Cox

Frank W. Cox, 60, of Osgood, passed away at 12:30 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016 at his home. He was born at Milan on January 16, 1956, the son of Monroe and Avis Cornett Cox. He was married to Blanche Palmer on July 19, 1975 and she survives. Other survivors include two sons Frank Jr. (Carol) of Sunman and Jason (Sondra) of Osgood; one granddaughter Natalie Cox; his father-in-law Claude Palmer, Jr. of Osgood; one brother Donald (Jane) Cox of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one sister Shirley Hamilton of Brownstown. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jesse.

Mr. Cox was a 1974 graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School and also attended the Southeastern Career Center where he studied building trades. He spent his entire working career as a carpenter being employed with Comer Buildings and also F. A. Wilhelm Construction in Indianapolis as well as being self-employed. In his spare time Frank was an avid mushroom hunter, loved tinkering in his garage, watching football, and playing corn hole. Frank was a member of the Osgood Sons of the Legion.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 10 at 7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Frank’s brother-in-law Pastor Steve Palmer officiating. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Frank’s wishes were to be cremated which will follow Wednesday’s funeral services. Memorials may be given to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.


Donna Sue York

Donna Sue York, 72, of Dillsboro, passed away Saturday evening, February 6, 2016 at the Waters of Dillsboro. Donna Sue was born on July 20, 1943 in Bicknell, IN to Harold and Martha (Brewer) York.

Donna Sue formerly owned a restaurant, and was a member of the Eastern Star in Versailles. She enjoyed her children and grandchildren. For the past several years she resided in the apartments on Alpha Street in Dillsboro and had many friends there. She previously attended the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert, and by her parents. She is survived by two sons, Bryan Wright of Cross Plains, and Carl “Sack” York of Punta Gorda, FL; two daughters, Cheryl (Kenneth) Mathews of Cross Plains, and Teresa Wright of Oxford, OH. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. Memorials in her memory may be given to the Eastern Star. Arrangements are entrusted to DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro.

Sharon Sue Turner, 77, of Moores Hill, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2016. Services will be at the convenience of the family.
