Milan Lady Indians capture 2017 IHSAA Class 2A Girls Softball Sectional #45

The scoreboard may say “Home of the Switzerland Co. Pacers,” but on May 26, it was literally home of the 2017 Sectional Champion - Regional advancing Milan Lady Indians.
The 12-0 ORVC Lady Indians Conference Champs nailed the final spike to clinch the title after soundly defeating the hosting Switzerland County Lady Pacers 12-1 in 4½ innings, then the Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels 5-4 in their title earning 7 inning battle.
The next extended season action for the 2017 Lady Indians would find them heading southwest down I-65 to Henryville High School for a Tuesday evening, May 30 Regional date against the Lady Hornets where Milan was defeated by the Henryville Hornets 3-4. The Henryville Lady Hornets defeated the Paoli Lady Rams 8-0 in their opening Sectional #46 game action and the Providence Lady Pioneers 13-0 in the Championship battle.
