Napoleon Town Board
working on grant for storm sewer project
Cathy May - Contributing Writer
The Napoleon Town Board is working with Southeastern
Indiana Regional Planning Commission to obtain a grant for
a storm sewer project. The next step in the grant process is
to do an income survey. A mass mailing will go out to everyone
in Napoleon. The board stresses the importance of completing
and sending it back in helping to secure the grant.
At the March 10, meeting it was noted that the town received
a letter from the Indiana Department of Environmental Management
after their inspection of the sewer lagoon in January. The
letter cites a violation for not having records stored at the
lagoon site when actually the records have been on site for
the last two years. Another violation was cited because the
effluent and influent flow meters were not installed. The influent
meter was actually installed in December of 2003. The effluent
meter has yet to be designed by engineer John Graf of Howard
Barth and Associates.
New Christmas decorations will be purchased. Twelve candy
canes will cost $325.00 each. The Osgood Lions Club will pay
for one of the decorations.
In other business Ron Linville will make a double-sided
sign to be placed in front of the community center building.
Utility Manager Rod Eaton completed his Operator Qualification
for the gas utility. The county will give Napoleon a price for the cost of
snow removal on the town streets. And the pot holes that developed over the
winter will start being repaired soon.
All three board members were present: Bill Vankirk, Tim Brancamp
and Gerry Linarducci. Clerk Treasurer Karen Rohlfing was also
present. The next regular meeting of the Napoleon Town Board
is scheduled for April 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Napoleon Senior
Center.
