Ripley County Retired Teachers to meet
Reservations are needed
Mary Margaret Moorhead - Staff Writer

Ripley County Retired Teachers will meet on Thursday afternoon, October 14, at 12:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of the Tyson United Methodist Church in Versailles for the fall get-together.

Served by the ladies of Tyson United Methodist Church, the luncheon will consist of soup and sandwiches at a cost of $6.00 per person.

According to President William "Gus" Moorhead, members should not arrive before 11:30 a.m. since the pre-school meets in the Fellowship Hall until 11:00 a.m. "Please allow
time for the ladies to get the room ready at the conclusion of the pre-school," said Moorhead.

Moorhead also notes that reservations are needed and may be made by calling the church office at 689-6976 or 689-5795 (Gus Moorhead) or 689-9966 (Alma Price).

"Please do not attend without making a reservation. We have been having too many attend without a res
ervation, making it difficult for the ladies to plan. Also some make a reservation and then do not attend. We end up paying for meals that are not eaten, and the treasury cannot afford too many of these. Please be diligent in this matter. We encourage your attendance, but please make a reservation and be there to honor it."

The fall meeting will be called to order at 12:30 p.m. Following lunch,
a program of musical entertainment, a short talk by Principal Mark Collier of the South Ripley Elementary School, a legislative update, and a business session will be provided.

"All retired teachers in the county are urged to attend and to bring a guest if you like. Just be sure and call in your reservations by Wednesday, October 13," Moorhead concluded.
