Napoleon qualifies for storm sewer study

Finally! After months of gathering income surveys from the citizens of Napoleon, the Napoleon Town Board finally got enough surveys completed to qualify for the storm sewer study. The next step is to apply for a grant for the study. This was announced at the regular board meeting of the Napoleon Town Board on Wednesday, October 13.

The town is going to work with the fire department and the water department to put up more fire hydrants in the town. This would give the homeowners a higher safety rating and help with their homeowners insurance. The town currently has three hydrants and they are looking at doubling that to six, including one on the public square.

The town council approved the rezone change for Rebecca D. Stein. She requested a rezone from the Residential-2 Zone to the Local Business Zone for lots #51 and #54 in the original Town of Napoleon. Her property is located on the southwest corner off of the town square. Stein and Anna Wilson plan on putting a day care on the property.

Trick or treat has been set for Sunday, October 31 from 5 to 7 p.m. There will be a party starting at 7 p.m. at the Napoleon Senior Center. Heavy trash pick-up is set for Monday, November 1.

Board members Bill Vankirk and Gerry Linnarducci were present for the meeting. Clerk-Treasurer Karen Rohlfing was present to advise the board. The next meeting will be held on November 10, at 7:00 p.m. at the Napoleon Senior Center.
