Jac-Cen-Del honors fall athletes at annual Fall Sports Banquet

This past Tuesday night was Jac-Cen-Del's annual Fall Sports Banquet in the high school gym. The athletes honored participated in the fall sports including girls varsity golf, reserve volleyball, varsity volleyball, varsity soccer and varsity boy's and girl's cross country. Each team awarded individuals with such awards as scholastic, most determined, most valuable among others.

Girls Varsity Golf

Girls varsity golf was the first team honored in the banquet. Ruth Ann Peetz was the coach of this year's girls golf team, which was made up of Kayla Kessnes, Jessica Hicks, Brittany Joseph, Natasha Gregory and Jessica Luers.

The award winners were Kayla Kessens- captain and most valuable, Brittany Joseph- most determined, Jessica Hicks- most improved and Natasha Gregory- scholastic (11.28).

Reserve Volleyball

This year's reserve volleyball team finished the season with a record of 15-9 under coach Tina Ashley. The team was made up of Kailyn Ploegar, Jessica Luers, Carissa Simon, Rachel Toops, Kara Harlemert, Abby Moorhead, Holly Huffmeyer, Angela Hildebrand and Natasha Gregory.

Award winners were Natasha Gregory- scholastic (11.28) and mental attitude, Kailyn Ploegar- most determined and Kara Harlemert- most improved.

Varsity Volleyball

Michelle Sebastian was the coach of this year's varsity volleyball team which finished the season with a record of 1-27. Winning varsity letters this year were Abby Rohlfing, Emily Einhaus, Talena Huff, Abby Lauber, Kayla Walke, Tiffany Downey, Olivia Newhart, Kaylin Ploegar and manager Lindsay Payne. Receiving certificates of participation were Carissa Simon, Rachel Toops, Kara Harlemert, Abby Moorhead, Holly Huffmeyer, Angela Hildebrand and Natasha Gregory.

Award winners were Emily Einhaus- scholastic (10.71), Tiffany Downey- most valuable and serving award, Talena Huff-
hustle award, Kailyn Ploegar- most improved and Kayla Walke and Olivia Newhart- captain.

Varsity Soccer

This year's varsity soccer team finished with the best record in JCD soccer history at 11-7 and third in the conference under head coach Mark Jones. Assisting Jones were Andy O'Grady and Loren Stolze. Receiving letters this year were Derek Jones, Tyler Einhaus, Craig Hill, Josh Brancamp, Adam Wagner, Nick Hoium, Eric Gloyd, Marcus Wirth, Andrew Wagner, Tucker Brown, Leslie Brancamp, Daniel Leonetti, Kurt Miller, David Busch, Jeremy Wagner and Kellen Stolze. Receiving letters of participation were Tony Heck, Steven Stepleton, Preston Richards,Eric Horan, Brock Billman, Danny Meister and Zach Simon.

Two individuals were named to the All-Conference team including Derek Jones and Tyler Einhaus. Jones was also named to the district All-Star team which will eventually determine the All-State team.

Award winners were Derek Jones- most valuable player, Craig Hill- captain, Tyler Einhaus- most determined, Josh Brancamp- most improved and Andrew Wagner- scholastic (11.28).

Girls Varsity Cross Country

David Bradshaw was the coach of this year's girls varsity cross country team which finished the season with a record of 51-30 and were second in the county, third in the conference and sixth in the sectional meet. The team was made up of Casey Gerwe, Laura Hicks, Alisha Lord, Amber Lunsford, Kaitlyn Hughes and Kelley Wagner.

Three Lady Eagles finished in the top twelve in the conference meet earning them a spot on the All-Conference team. Those three were Alisha Lord, Amber Lunsford and Kelley Wagner. All three also mad the All-County team, finishing in the top ten in the Ripley County Invitational meet.

Award winners were Alisha Lord- most valuable, Amber Lunsford- most determined, Kelley Wagner- most improved, Kaitlyn Hughes- scholastic (10.85) and Casey Gerwe- captain.

Boys Varsity Cross Country

David Bradshaw was also the coach of the boys cross country team which had a record of 54-28 and finished second in the county, third in the conference, third in the Rushville Invitational, they were the champions of the Baylor Invitational at Milan and eighth in the sectional meet. The team was made up of Matt Hicks, Kyle Horan, Grand Gilland, Justin Eaton, Andrew Wagner, Andrew Huff, Austin Lord and Blake Billman. Tyler Bradshaw and Bryan Schwanholt were the managers of this years team.

Two individuals were named to both the All-County and All-Conference Teams including Justin Eaton and Kyle Horan. Horan was also named to the All-Sectional Team and advanced to compete in the Regional meet.

The award winners were Justin Eaton- most valuable, Kyle Horan, most determined, Andrew Wagner- scholastic (11.28), Matt Hicks- captain and most improved.

Junior high athletes honored at annual JCD Fall Sports Banquet

Jac-Cen-Del honored their fall junior high athletes in their annual Fall Sports Banquet held on Tuesday night in the high school gym. The athletes honored were those on the soccer team, seventh and eighth grade volleyball teams and girls and boys cross country teams. Each coach gave away awards to individuals such as scholastic, mental attitude, most determined and most improved.

Jr. High Soccer

The first team honored was the soccer team. They were coached by John Brison and finished the season with a record of 8-4-2. The team was made up of Josh Forbes, Kristen Hicks, Justin Stepleton, Shane Adams, Brent Ertel, Renee Meister, Amanda Rangel, Donah Stringer, Eric Wirth, Becca Meister, Gerald Hardesty, Joe Rangel, Valorie Wagner, Christopher Adkinso,
Michael Luers, Tyler Powers, Alissa Stolze, Brandon Wilhoit and Dalton Garnett.

The award winners were Brent Ertel- most improved, Justin Stepleton- most determined and Gerald Hardesty- scholastic (11.28) and mental attitude.

Seventh Grade Volleyball

Taneha Negangard was the coach of the seventh grade volleyball team which finished their season with a record of 2-17. The team was made up of Sam White, Danielle Wagner, Elisha Menchhofer, Amanda Rangel, Melissa Horan, Molly Tunny, Desarae Helton, Alissa Stolze and Kayla Fullenkamp. The managers of the team were Brianna Culp and Andrea Rodgers.

The award winners were Alissa Stolze- most improved, Molly Tunny- most determined, Melissa Horan- scholastic (11.28) and mental attitude.

Eighth Grade Volleyball

This year's eighth grade volleyball team was coached by Lisa Tupper. They finished their season with an outstanding 15-5 record. The team was made up of Regina Ricke, Janine Huff, Audrey Huffmeyer, Chelsae Hooten, Olivia Gunter, Danielle Leighty, Tanaha Simon, Ciara Bonnlander and Chelsea Abplanalp. Heather Owens was the teams' manager.

Award winners were Olivia
Gunter- most improved, Regina Ricke- most determined, Tanah Simon- mental attitude and Danielle Leighty, Audrey Huffmeyer and Chelsae Hooten- scholastic (10.71).

Jr. High Girls Cross Country

This year's girls cross country team had an outstanding record of 47-3 under coach Dave Huling. The team was made up of Valorie Wagner, Becca Wagner, Brooke Gilland, Alyssa Hammond, Erica Hicks, Sam White, Allana Newhart, Alyssa Herbert and Jaime Lunsford.

Award winners were Alyssa Herbert- most improved, Jaime Lunsford and Brooke Gilland- most determined, Sam White- mental attitude and Valorie Wagner- scholastic (11.14).

Jr. High Boys Cross Country

Dave Huling was also the coach of the boys cross country team who finished the season with a record of 44-7. The team was made up of Zach Schuler, Derek Lunsford, Devin Shadday, Brandon Wilhoit, Blake Sutton, Brock Shadday, Ethan Wagner and Zach Kappes.

The award winners were Ethan Wagner- most improved, Derek Lunsford- most determined, Blake Sutton- mental attitude and Zach Kappes- scholastic (10.14).
