Commissioners appointments for 2005 decided

The Ripley County Commissioners approved the
following appointments for 2005: County Attorney, Neil Comer;
Ripley County Highway Department, Owen Heaton, Jr. - Superintendent,
Robert Bales - District 1 Foreman, Tony Mayberry - District
2 Foreman, Ray Toops - District 3 Foreman, Pat Kissel - Garage
Foreman, Gerald Johnson - Bridge Crew Foreman, Eudora Henthorn
- Bookkeeper.
For the Ripley County Area Planning Commission: Tad Brinson
- Executive Director, Ronald Duebber - Building Inspector,
Kenneth Krieg - Assistant Building Inspector, Virginia Risk
- Office Manager, Nancy Curry - Assistant Office Manager, Owen
Menchhofer - Plan
ning Commission/Commissioner Appointment, Charles Rohlfing - Board of Zoning
Appeals Appointment.
For the Ripley County Technology Department: Kelly Vollet
- Technology Coordinator, Helen Lohrum - Technology Assistant.
Andrew Clark will again be the Veterans Service Officer. Jim
Lovins will be the County Dog Catcher.
For Maintenance and Housekeeping: Gene Bishop - Maintenance,
Rebecca Mullins - Courthouse Housekeeping, June Branson - Annex Housekeeping.
Scott Melling was again appointed as EMS Director. Ripley
County considers Melling an exempt salaried employee and as
such is not eligible for overtime pay. Melling had recently
turned in a request for approximately 1,600 hours overtime
pay and was denied. The county shares Melling's salary with
Marga
ret Mary Community Hospital, who also considers Melling an exempt salaried
employee.
Other Commissioner appointments included Commissioner Robert
Reiners to the Southeastern Indiana Regional Planning Board,
Ted Spurlock to the Economic Development Board, and Commissioner
Lawrence Nickell to the Jefferson Proving Ground Board.
