her team when they needed her."

Up until the fourth quarter of the Championship game of the Ripley County Tourney the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles were looking for a spark to help them get past the Batesville Bulldogs. That spark came from guard Tyler Einhaus who single-handedly took over the game and led his team to a 54-52 victory over the four-time defending champs. His 12 points in the fourth quarter helped his team chip away a 10 point Batesville lead and propel the Eagles to their first County title since 1999.

The favored Eagles, who already defeated Batesville by 20 points earlier this season, got off to a slow start scoring just 11 points in the first quarter tying Batesville's 11 points in the quarter.

In the second quarter the two teams scored evenly again, each adding 10 points to their total. Going into halftime the game was knotted up at 21-21. Adam Peetz led the Eagles with 9 first half points followed by Einhaus' 6.

JCD hit just one free throw out of seven attempts in the third quarter on their way to scoring a game low 7 points. Batesville scored 16 points in the quarter to take a 9 point lead.
Going into the fourth quarter the Bulldogs were leading 37-28.

In the fourth quarter Batesville held on to their lead with the Eagles not able to cut it any closer than 4. With just over 5:00 left in the game the Bulldogs were sitting on a 9 point lead and looked to be in control of the game, but Einhaus and the Eagles had a :30 to play Einhaus grabbed an offensive rebound and hit a bunny to give JCD a one point lead. On the other end of the court JCD's defense forced a turnover and the Bulldogs fouled Matt Hicks. Hicks hit one of two free-throws to give the Eagles a 54-52 lead, which would be the final score.

Einhaus led all scorers with 20 points, 7 steals and 8 rebounds on his way to being selected as the All-County Team's Most Valuable Player. Adam Peetz finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds followed by Chip Schuler with 6 points and Justin Huff, Derek Hones and Andrew Huntington with 3 points each.

Alex Borgman led Batesville with 15 points followed by Clint Salatin with 8.

With the win the Eagles continue their undefeated season pushing their record to 8-0 on the season. JCD will look to continue to remain unbeaten this Saturday when they host defend
ing 1A state champions Waldron. That game is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm.
