Jean P. Bruns
Jean P. Bruns, 74, of Milan, died Monday, August 22, 2005 at King's Daughters' Hospital, Madison. She was born August 27, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Bernard P. and Margaret Mary (Anderson) Bruns. She married Roslyn Bengie and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two sons, Junior Wheeler of Greensburg, Glenn Wheeler of Aurora; two daughters, Dottie Riede of Batesville, Renata Addison of Dillsboro; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; four brothers, Bill, Tom and Gary Bruns all of Milan, Bob Bruns of Moores Hill and one sister, Patricia Bonnlander of Bright.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Janet Bonnlander on July 15, 2005.
Mr. Bruns was retired from Romweber Furniture and was an Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was also a retired Aurora fireman and a member of the Moores Hill American Legion Post.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 25, 11 a.m. slow time at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan with Father Frank Eckstein officiating. Burial will follow in the New Craven Cemetery, Milan with military graveside services by the Moores Hill Legion.
Memorials may be made to the King's Daughters' Hospice.

Guy Warren Wise
Guy Warren Wise, 72, of Madison, died Sunday, August 21, 2005 at his residence. He was born July 28, 1933 in Frankton, the son of Forrest Eldon Wise and Iris Juanita Shultz Wise, both deceased. He married Virginia B. (Jackson) Wise on October 16, 1954 in Madison County and she survives.
Survivors include four daughters, Joan Carter of Franklin, Nila Barker of Anderson, Brenda Wise of Indianapolis, Sherry Findell and husband Michael of Tooele, Utah; one son, Don Wise of Plainfield; one sister, Cindy Kemball of Maine; one brother, Leo Wise of Lapel; ten grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one nephew; three nieces and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Lavon Wise; one sister, Lazerna Taylor and one granddaughter, Katie Jo Carter.
Mr. Wise was employed for 44 years with General Motors in Anderson. He was a member of the UAW Local 662 in Anderson.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August 25, 10:30 a.m. at Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, Madison with Rev. Ron Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Elwood Mausoleum and Cemetery in Elwood, Indiana.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in care of the funeral home.

Robert W. Ray
Robert W. Ray, 87, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, August 23, 2005 at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg. He was born February 26, 1918 in Ripley County, the son of Robert Ora Ray and Tressa Cross Ray, both deceased. He married Betty Sininger in June 1939 and she preceded him in death in September 1988. He then married Alvena Sembach on January 5, 1991 and she preceded him in death on July 26, 1994. He then married Mary Bovard Ray on August 9, 1997 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Donald L. Ray of Indianapolis; one stepson, Norman E. Littell of Kennesaw, GA; grandchild, Amber Ray and two step grandchildren, Julie Wilder and Kurt Castor. He was preceded in death by his parents, two wives, three sisters, Fern Rork, Lillian Bultman and Crystal A. Smith.
Mr. Ray was rural mail carrier for 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post #173, Versailles, the Disabled American Veterans, the Rural Letter Carries Association, the NAREE and the Sandcreek Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 25, 4-7 p.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, Greensburg. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 26, 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Napoleon.
Memorials may be made to the Decatur County Memorial Hospital, Greensburg.

Oran Bradford
Oran Bradford, 82, of North Carolina, died Monday, August 22, 2005. He was born August 3, 1923.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Bradford; daughter, Partha Howell and her husband Leroy Howell of Beaufort; stepdaughter, Pam Jones of Raleigh; stepsons, Jim Jones and wife, Betty Jones of Rougemont and Ben Senter of Arlington, VA; and three step grandchildren.
Mr. Bradford was a retired employee of Bobby Murray Chevrolet. He was a native of Indiana and a US Army veteran of WWII.
Graveside funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August 25, 2 p.m. at the Montlawn Memorial Park.

Cleo Baker Smith
Cleo Baker Smith, 83, of New Marion, formerly of Carthage, Texas, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. She was born in Quail, Texas on February 17, 1922, the daughter of John and Donnie O'Hair Sorrell.
Survivors include one son Jimmie Smith and wife Brenda of New Marion; one daughter, Caroletta Baize of Carthage, Texas; two grandchildren, Kenny Monk of Gilmore, Texas and Terri Peerenboom of Ruidoso, New Mexico; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was a former bookkeeper and beautician. She was a member of the Carthage, Texas First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12 at 2 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Charles Cole officiating. Burial will be in the New Marion Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services.
Memorials may be given to the New Marion Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Helen A. Suttmiller
Helen A. Suttmiller, 81, of Batesville, died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at The Waters of Batesville. She was born February 16, 1924 in Cincinnati, OH the daughter of Frank Schwemberger and Cecilia Luken Schwemberger, both deceased. She married Kenneth Tara and he preceded her in death. She then married Frank Schwemberger and he also preceded her in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Ceil Miller of Batesville, Ann Nuhring of Batesville; one son, Ken Tara of Los Angeles, CA; two sisters, Dorothy Woeber of Goshen, OH, Sylvia Tone of Milford, OH; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Fenske.
Mrs. Suttmiller was a nurses' aide at Margaret Mary Community Hospital. She was also a volunteer at the hospital and a member of the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 Ladies Auxiliary and the Ripley County VFW Post #3183 Ladies Auxiliary.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 10, 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church in Batesville.
Burial was in the St. Louis Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Hospice of Margaret Mary Hospital.

Betty Mae Collins
Betty Mae Collins, 61, of Moores Hill, died at her residence. She was born August 7, 1943 in Knott County, KY, the daughter of Harlin and Maudie (Creech) Gibson. She married Astor Collins on December 21, 1962 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2004. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her mother, Maudie Gibson of Kentucky; three brothers, Jimmy, Kenny and Sonny Gibson all of Kentucky; and five sisters, Patty Taulbee, Barbara Gaunce, Christine Palmiteer, Hazel Bentley and Myrtle Ann Sexton, all of Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her father, Harlin Gibson.
Graveside services will be held today, Thursday, August 4, 1 p.m. (fast time) at Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill.

" Charlie" Bowin

Charles W. "Charlie" Bowin, 77, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Vevay, died Sunday, January 9, 2005 at his residence. He was born April 9, 1927 in Vevay the son of William B. Bowin and Delphia A. Clark Bowin, both deceased. He married Nancy Josephine (Edwards) Bowin in March of 1947 and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Booher of Kittanning, PA, Beulah Clayton of Lawrenceburg, Treva Roberts of Dillsboro, Brenda Eckelberg of Friendship, WI, Crystal Farr of Colorado Springs, CO; three sons, Chester Edward of Columbus, GA, John Wilson of Osgood, Larry Bowin of Colorado Springs, CO; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister, Louise Hambrick and husband Nelson of Fairfield, OH; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Norma L. LaVelle, Willena Steelman, Marjorie Leap, Bernitta Ann Bowin, Genevieve Potter; one brother, Eddie Bowin; one half brother, Joe Walker; and one half sister, Mary Patterson.
Mr. Bowin was a World War II veteran serving overseas. He was employed with General Motors Corp. for 15 years in Ohio. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #38 in Fountain, Colorado.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 1 p.m. (slow time) in Vevay Cemetery with Rev. Ronald Sandidge officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Vevay American Legion Post #185 and VFW Post #5396.
Memorials may go to the donor's choice. Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay is in charge of the arrangements.

Norma Jeanette Long
Norma Jeanette Long, 100, of Houston, Texas, died Thursday, July 28, 2005 in Houston, Texas. She was born October 28, 1904 in Milan, the daughter of Charles M. and May (Whitmore) Laws. She married Malcomb J. Long on July 14, 1928 and he preceded her in death in November of 1968.
One daughter, Barbara Jean Renshaw of Tomball, Texas, six grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren survive her.
Mrs. Long was a schoolteacher having taught at the Cutter School near Milan. She was a member of the Milan United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 10 a.m. fast time at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Moores Hill with Dr. Larry Wick officiating. Memorials may go the heart fund.

Romilda E. Pulskamp
Romilda E. Pulskamp, 86, of Oldenburg, died Sunday, July 31, 2005 at Deaconess Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. She was born March 25, 1921 in Oldenburg the daughter of William Enneking, Sr. and Christina Handorf Enneking, both deceased. She married Robert Pulskamp on April 24, 1946 at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg and he survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Wilma Shane of Batesville, Carol Hanna of Batesville, Sandra Meyer of Oldenburg; one son, James Pulskamp of Greensburg; one sister, Luella Britch of Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, William Enneking, Jr. of Cincinnati, OH, Gilbert Enneking of Oldenburg; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Laverne Fasbinder; one sister, Rita Volz; and one brother, Robert Enneking.
Mrs. Pulskamp was a homemaker and a member of the Holy Family Church and Ladies Society.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, August 4, 10 a.m. at Holy Family Church in Oldenburg with Rev. John Turnbull, O.F.M. officiating.
Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery. Memorials may go to the Lupus Foundation or 911 Emergency Services.

" Dorey" Eadler

Teodora "Dorey" Eadler, 84, of Batesville, died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at The Waters of Batesville. She was born September 11, 1920 in Barcelona, Philippines the daughter of Felipe Ferol and Matilda (Buizon) Ferol, both deceased.
Survivors include two daughters, Neria Shelton of Richmond, VA, Susan Koester of Atlanta, GA; four sons, Zane Koester of South Port, Steele Koester of Carmel, Phil Ryan of Batesville, Paul Ryan of Batesville; eighteen grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Eadler was a cook at the Sherman House for 15 years and the Hillcrest Country Club for 10 years before retiring. She was a member of St. Louis Church, the Prell-Bland American Legion Post #271 Ladies Auxiliary and the Eagles Aerie #1130 Ladies Auxiliary.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, August 4, 4-7 p.m. (slow time) at Weigel Funeral Home in Batesville with a prayer service being held at 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church in Batesville with Rev. Daniel Mahan officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Louis Cemetery in Batesville. Memorials may go to the Ripley County VFW Ladies Auxiliary or to The Waters of Batesville Activities Fund.

Walter H. Busch
Walter H. Busch, 82, of Osgood, passed away Monday, August 1, 2005 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born near Osgood on August 19, 1922 the son of Henry and Mary Neihouse Busch. He was married to Annabelle Fry on April 14, 1947 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, William Busch and wife Melodie of Osgood, Robert Busch and wife Mary of Batesville; one daughter, Barbara Elliott and husband Jeff of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren, Eric, Angie, Ryan, Michael and David Busch and Brian and Matt Elliott; and one sister, Mrs. Ethel Stegemoller of Versailles. He was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Carrie Busch; and his sister, Esther Dean.
Mr. Busch was a 1940 graduate of Osgood High School and had farmed his entire life. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ at Finks Corner and also the Ripley County Farm Bureau. He had formerly worked as a tobacco base measurer for the ASC.
Visitation will be held today, Thursday, August 4, 5-8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ with Rev. Karyl Leslie officiating.
Burial will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Osgood. Memorials may be given to St. Peter's United Church of Christ Building Fund or to the foundation for Parkinson's Disease Research.
