Gary Franklin - Sports Writer

The Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles in defeating the Milan Lady Indians in the RCT consolation game again began their winning way, and on Tuesday, January 10, traveled to Lawrenceburg to face the Lady Tigers, winning the varsity game 49-33.

This victory over the Lady Tigers stretched the Lady Eagles winning efforts for the season to 11 of 13, having only taken defeats by Jeffersonville in the regular season and Batesville in their opening tourney bid.

In a physical game, with over 40 combined free throws taken, JCD used tenacious defense to hold the Lady Tigers to only 16 second half points on route to the win.

Balanced team scoring keyed the win, according to Lady Eagle Varsity Coach Scott Smith, as every Lady Eagle scored and 6 scored 6 or more points in their victory drive. Smith noted, "Defensively, we must play the aggressor all the time, and again an earnest team effort prevailed."

Lady Eagle senior Janelle Hardesty led the Lady Eagle scorers with 9 points, taking her career total as a Lady Eagle to 1061, closing in on the all-time JCD scoring records second place holder.

Talena Huff came off the bench to score 8 points while collecting 6 boards in the game, and teammates Alisha Lord, Abby Rohlfing, Emily Einhaus, and Kiersten Young added 6 points each.
