Members of the South Ripley Community School Board of Trustees
met in a special session to discuss raises for personnel.
Superintendent Ted Ahaus recommended approval of the 2005-2006
master contract with the South Ripley Classroom Teachers Association.
A 1 1/2 percent raise on the salary and extra-curricular schedule
was approved, along with 3/4 percent of one-time non-reoccurring
money based on the salary schedule also getting approval.
The superintendent thanked the negotiating committee for their
work in getting the contract settled.
The committee's recommendation for administrative raises was
retroactive to July 1, 2005. State averages for administrative
positions were reviewed. It was noted that two positions were "drastically
below" the state average. The committee recommended that
the base salaries of the position of assistant superintendent
and business manager be raised by $2,000. All administrative
contracts were extended for one year.
The recommendation carried with a unanimous vote. There were
five members present: Keith Mathews, Randy McIntosh, Jim Miller,
Ralph Miller, and Jim Samples. Board members Chris Bradford
and Robert Garcia were absent due to work commitments.
