The Jac-Cen-Del Eagle spring sports coaches under the direction of Mark Meyer - Athletic Director, honored their athletes at the annual awards program on Thursday, June 8, in the JCDHS gym. The program opened with remarks and a welcome to athletes, parents, coaching staff, and guests by AD Meyer.
Coaches were acknowledged for the 2006 teams and included: Andy O'Grady and Dee Powers - Varsity Co-ed Track & Field Teams, Lauren Lauber - Lady Eagle Reserve Softball Team, Brian Samples - Lady Eagle Varsity Softball Team, Varsity Golf Team - Steve Gilland, Reserve Baseball - Steve Narwold, and Varsity Baseball - David Bradshaw.
As each coach stated special remarks regarding their specific teams, the individual accomplishments made, and goals as had been set by they and their athletes in the beginning of the various sports seasons, gratitude was extended to bus drivers, parents, custodians, grounds keepers, and the cast of volunteers necessary to insuring a positive season once again.

A touch of nostalgia ends a best ever season run for the Raiders in 2006
The left field wall portrays the era Disney productions set for the filming of "A League of Their Own", as on tis day, South Ripley Raider Michael Fear's first pitch delivery is for a strike in their Semi-State losing effort against the North Posey Vikings at Huntingburg City Park Stadium, the home of the Dubois Bombers.
