Police are investigating the death of 47-year-old Bruce M. Robak after his body was found in the parking lot near the apartment complex he lived in.

According to information from Sgt. Noel Houze Jr. of the Indiana State Police, the body of Robak was found in the parking lot of the Herford Apartments in Madison (Michigan Road) just after 5:00 a.m. Sunday morning, April 8. The call came in to the Madison Police Department saying the body of a white male in his mid to late 40’s was dead with an apparent stab wound to his abdomen. Madison Police contacted the Indiana State Police at Versailles and requested detectives and crime scene investigators to assist with the incident.

An autopsy performed at the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, KY, revealed that Robak died of a single stab wound that went up through his abdomen and penetrated his heart. Investigators say they found no evidence of foul play. The final determination as to whether the death will be ruled homicide, suicide or accidental will be the call of the coroner’s office. Police say they don’t know when the ruling will be made.
