Pathologists have positively identified a body that was recovered from the Ohio River on Monday, April 9 as that of Ashley Robinson, 23 of Hanover.

In an earlier report, five people were charged with the murder of Robinson, however, her body had not been found. Information given to police led them to believe her body had been dumped in the Ohio River. Crews diligently searched the water and as Conservation Officers David Jackson and Andy Crozier were patrolling on the Ohio River their diligence paid off. Information from the Indiana State Police noted that the officers discovered a body around 2:45 p.m. on Monday that was approximately five miles down stream from where investigators believe the murder occurred.
The body was taken to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville, where an autopsy was performed giving police the positive identification they needed.

According to Ripley Publishing files, Robinson was reported missing to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department on February 12. On March 14 it was announced that she had been murdered. That announcement came with the arrests of five people: Brandon Skinner, 24, of Madison; Michael Cory Bowling 24, of Hanover; Brian Kemp, 27, of Hanover; Donielle Sherley, 23, of Madison; and Carissa Miller, 18, of Hanover.
