awards $369,765
The Rising Sun Regional Foundation (RSRF) awarded a total of $369,765
in 18 new grants at its March meeting. These grants included:
$30,000 to the City of Rising Sun toward the purchase
and installation of three emergency sirens to be located throughout
the community.
$37,165 to the Rising Sun/Ohio County Community School
Corporation toward a computer program that will be used for
both diagnosing and remediating student learning problems and for
professional development associated with this program.
$25,000 to the Ohio County Highway Department toward
the purchase of a used asphalt paver.
$12,500 to the City of Rising Sun toward expenses
associated with the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns Leadership
Conference to be held in Rising Sun in July 2007.
$29,710 to the City of Rising Sun toward the purchase
of a Quiet Site portable generator to provide a back-up power supply
for the city in emergency situations and to provide on-site power
for community events.
$25,000 to the Rising Sun/Ohio County First toward
expenses associated with its 2007 Rising Sun River Days Festival
to be held in August 2007.
$7,500 to the United States International Muzzle Loading
Team for physical improvements to the Coonhunters Range in Batesville
to host the M.L.A.I.C. Pacific Zone Championship in July 2007.
$1,000 to LifeTime Resources in Dillsboro toward
the printing and regional distribution costs of its Older Adult
and Caregiver Resource Guide.
$2,800 to South Dearborn Community School Corporation,
on behalf of the regional South Dearborn Babe Ruth League, for the
purchase of items related to the upkeep of its baseball field.
$5,000 to the Napoleon Community Recreation and Restoration
Corporation toward the start-up costs associated with its Civil
War Reenactment and Underground Railroad Living History weekend
to be held in Napoleon in the summer of 2007.
$13,709 to the City of Batesville/EMS-10 for the purchase
of a cardiac monitoring/defibrillator unit.
$20,000 to St. Nicholas Church & School (Sunman)
toward costs associated with the relocation of a county road through
its campus to improve the safety of its students.
$47,317 to the Sunman-Dearborn Community School Corporation,
on behalf of the Sunman Dearborn Youth Athletic Association, toward
the installation of field lights and the construction of a storage
building at the Sunman Elementary School.
$5,000 to the South Dearborn Community School Corporation
toward the replacement of dugouts at its softball and junior varsity
baseball fields.
$22,900 to the City of Aurora toward the preparation
of a Market Street Infrastructure & Neighborhood Improvement
Project engineering study.
$36,244 to the Ripley County Commissioners toward
the purchase of a new tractor/mower/ditcher.
$15,920 to the Ripley County Commissioner toward the
design and publication of county map books.
$33,000 to the Jac-Cen-Del Community School Corporation
(Osgood) toward the installation of lights for its track and soccer
field.
The Rising Sun Regional Foundation, beginning its 11th year
of grantmaking, is continuing to address the critical infrastructure
needs of the governmental, educational, and nonprofit organizations
in its region and also contribute to those types of projects that
will enhance the daily quality of life of the residents of southeastern
Indiana, noted Foundation President Marianne Wiggers. |
