Barbara Canada
Barbara Canada, 57, of Dabney passed away Saturday,
April 21, 2007 at St. Vincents Hospital in Carmel. She
was born at Madison on June 11, 1949 the daughter of Charles
Raymond and Mary Belle Hawkins Turner. She was married to
Larry Canada on June 29, 1985 and he survives.
Other survivors include one daughter Christy Scoggins and
her husband Steve of Holton, one son Donald Clark, Jr. and
his wife Rhonda of Holton; stepsons Randy Canada and his wife
Brenda of Mt. Vernon, Bill Canada and Jennifer of Princeton,
North Carolina, Jerry and Carrie Canada of Lafayette, and
Tim and Gwen Canada of Madison; 13 grandchildren, two brothers,
Randy Turner and his wife Donna of Vevay, Terry Turner and
Luann of Rising Sun; three sisters, Sherry Griffin of LaGrange,
Kentucky, Donna Herald and her husband Doug of Burlington,
Kentucky, and Janice and James Bales of Tell City.
Mrs. Canada was a member of the New Life Pentecostal Church
in North Vernon. She was formerly employed with US Shoe in
Osgood and Madison and also with Delta Faucet in Greensburg.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 25 at 11:00
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Burial will be in the Dabney Cemetery. Visitation will be
Tuesday from 5-8:00 p.m.

Winifred "Winnie" J. Sidebottom
Winifred "Winnie" J. Sidebottom,
79, of Dillsboro passed away Thursday, April 19, 2007 at her
residence. She was born at Kingston on Thames, Surrey, England
on July 5, 1927 the daughter of Harry and Annie Louise Trussler,
both deceased. She married Russell L. Sidebottom and he preceded
her in death.
Survivors include son Gary Sidebottom of Burlington, KY; daughter
Teresa and husband Mike Taylor of Overland Park, KS; companion
Arnold Rump; brother Ray Trussler; twelve grandchildren and
29 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughters Rebecca Greenwell and
Linda Anderson; sister Olive Topple; and brothers Reginald
and Ron Trussler.
Mrs. Sidebottom was a homemaker.
Funeral services were held Monday, April 23 at the Ulrich
Filter DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Burial was in the
Oakdale Cemetery, Dillsboro.

Frank C. Martin, 83, of Morris passed away Friday, April 20,
2007 at Hospitality Hall in Batesville.

Mary Ann Werner, 72, of Batesville passed away Friday, April
20, 2007 at St. Andrews Health Campus in Batesville.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, April 24 at
10:00 a.m. at St. Anthonys church in Morris. Burial
will follow in the church cemetery.

Margaret Vanosdol
Margaret Vanosdol, 81, of Holton passed away
Sunday, April 15, 2007 at her residence. She was born near
New Marion on January 17, 1926 the daughter of Alexander and
Mary Alice Stagg Miller. She was married to Woodrow Vanosdol
on July 4, 1975 and he survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Robert Dobbs of Pulaski,
Tennessee, Joe Dobbs of Batesville, and Roy Dobbs of New Marion;
one daughter Mary Nealis of Holton; two stepsons, John Vanosdol
of Knightstown, Wayne Vanosdol of Holton; two stepdaughters,
Linda Bustle of Holton and Brenda Sizemore of Osgood; nine
grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, 13 step-grandchildren
and nine step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles
Miller and Albert Miller, her sister Virginia Bradford, one
grandchild, one great-grandchild, and two step-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vanosdol was retired from Reliance Electric in Madison.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 19 at 11:00
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Rev. Charles Cole of the Dabney Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery. Visitation will be
Wednesday from 5-8:00 p.m.

Ray Noble Cooper
Ray Noble Cooper, 74, of Milan, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007
at his residence. He was born December 11, 1932 at Knifely,
KY, the son of William Monroe and Della Ann Williams Cooper.
He married Martha Inman on June 25, 1955 and she survives.
Survivors also include daughters Deborah and husband James
Collier of Batesville; Patricia and Steve McKim of Moores
Hill; Sharon and Joe Deaton, Raydean and Jeff Ingram and Joyce
and Joe Wismann, all of Milan; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and
one sister.
Mr. Cooper was a retired burner and welder for AR Industries
in Cincinnati, OH. He served as pastor and assistant pastor
of the Negangard Freewill Baptist Church for many years. Mr.
Cooper was a member of the F&AM and Scottish Rite, and
was a Kentucky Colonel.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 7 at the Negangard
Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Paul Anderson and Brother
Gary Lovett officiating. Burial was in the New Craven Cemetery
in Milan.
Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan was in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be given to the Negangard Corner Freewill Baptist
Church.
Kim Heidorn
Kim Heidorn, 48, of Versailles passed away Sunday, April 8,
2007 at St. Vincents Hospital in Indianapolis. He was
born at Batesville on February 1, 1959 the son of William
and Jane Franks Heidorn. He was married to Mary Wingate on
April 13, 1991 and she survives.
Other survivors include his father William Heidorn of Delaware;
mother-in-law Frances Wingate of Holton; sons Jamie and Josh
of Lawrenceburg and Kyle Heidorn of Columbus; daughter Tiffany
of Lawrenceburg; step-daughters Christie Beverly of North
Carolina and Brittany Beverly of Versailles; several brothers
and sisters.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12 at 11:00
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Rev. Charles Cole of the Dabney Baptist Church officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services.

Mildred Aldean Demaree
Mildred Aldean Demaree, 92, of Dillsboro passed away Thursday,
April 5, 2007 at the Waters at Dillsboro. She was born near
Cross Plains on October 7, 1912 the daughter of Vaughn and
Anna Kinett Hallgarth.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Sneed and her husband
Louis of Dillsboro, Joyce Marshall of Frankfort, Illinois,
and Wanda Fuller and her husband John of St. Clair, Missouri;
four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; one sister
Hattie Andrews of Salk City, Wisconsin; three half-brothers,
Jackie Gene Hallgarth and David Hallgarth both of Lovett,
Texas, and Durwin Hallgarth of Hanover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughters Martha
and Carolyn, sisters Helen Webster and Evelyn Huntington,
brothers Robert, Clayton, and Lloyd Hallgarth, and half-sisters
Margaret Clayton, Virginia Prickett, and Elizabeth Ann Hallgarth.
Mrs. Demaree was a homemaker and was formerly employed at
the Odd Fellows Home in Greensburg.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 7 at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles with Randy Thieman officiating.
Burial was in the Benham Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Benham Cemetery in care of the
funeral home.
Sada Karin Wolters
Sada Karin Wolters, 54, of Osgood passed away Thursday, April
5, 2007 at her residence. She was born at Seco, Kentucky on
May 13, 1952 the daughter of Clayton and Letha Ann Jarrett
Collins and they survive. She married Harry Wolters and he
also survives.
Survivors also include son Stephen Billington; daughter Stephanie
Billington; brothers Samuel Collins of Bright; Fred Collins
of Sunman and Billy Collins of Oldenburg; sisters Joan Collins
of Florida; Tammy Walters of Osgood and Melinda Wolber of
St. Peters; and grandson Christopher Billington.
Mrs. Wolters was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.
Private funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, April
10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan
with Rev. Mike Cammack officiating. Burial will be in the
St. Peters Catholic Cemetery at St. Peters.

Charles Hall, Jr.
Charles Hall, Jr., 66, of Moores Hill passed away Friday,
April 6, 2007 at his residence. He was born in Ohio County
on January 19, 1941 the son of Charles and Mary Louise Webster
Hall. He married Joann Ballard and later Betty Kittle.
Survivors include his wife Betty of Moores Hill; mother Mary
Hall of Moores Hill; son Charles and wife Kim Hall of Bellfountain,
OH; daughter Melissa and husband Rudy Brown of Xenia, OH;
stepdaughter Robin and husband Loftie Hensley of Ecksmanville,
OH; brothers Jerry of Madison, Kenny of Friendship and Denver
Hall of Moores Hill; sisters Connie Wright of Aurora and Debbie
Watson of Rushville; six grandchildren; five step-grandchildren;
one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews and a host
of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles H. Hall, Sr.
Mr. Hall was a truck driver for Watkins Motor Lines. He was
a member of the Holmes Hill Church of Christ.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, April 10 from 6-9:00 p.m.
at the Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill. Funeral
services will be held on Wednesday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m.
at the Holmes Hill Church of Christ near Aurora with Rev.
Brent Wright officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Hedge
Cemetery at Rising Sun.

Bernice Palmer
Bernice Palmer, 88, of Holton passed away Friday,
March 30, 2007 at the south Central Indiana Hospice in Columbus.
She was born near Holton on September 6, 1918 the daughter
of James and Susie Bliton Beach. She was married to Lowell
Palmer on October 10, 1936 and he preceded her in death on
May 30, 1972.
Survivors include three daughters, Alma Addison of Cleves,
OH, Leta Palmer of Holton, and Brenda Luke and her husband
Dennis of Dabney; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren,
and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, daughters Rita
Allen and Glenna Land, brothers Melvin, Henry, and Wilbur
Beach, and her sisters Madge Schlotman, Edna Rose, and Thelma
Bostic.
Mrs. Palmer was a homemaker and a member of the Dabney Baptist
Church.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 4 at 11:00
a.m. at the Dabney Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Cole officiating.
Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Visitation
will be today, Tuesday, April 3 from 5-8:00 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10-11:00 a.m. Wednesday
at the church.

Lonnie E. Nickell
Lonnie E. Nickell, 72, of Indianapolis, passed
away Saturday, March 31, 2007, at the Manorcare Summer Trace
Nursing Home in Carmel. He was born at Syracuse, NY on August
10, 1934, the son of Garvin and Mae Craft Nickell, both deceased.
He married Arline Wagner on March 26, 1963 and she survives.
Mr. Nickell was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as
a millwright foreman at Penn Central for eleven years, and
then as a millwright at Navistar for 25 years, retiring in
1998.
Survivors also include daughters April and husband Eric Mullin
of Osgood; Yvonne and Joseph Conway of Valparaiso; Gwendolyn
and Monty Hammons of Fishers and Cassy Nickell of Indianapolis;
stepdaughters Maxine and husband Randy Grosch of Highland
Heights, KY and Marsha and Greg Herringer of Melbourne, KY;
grandchildren Darrin Grosch; Jerry Merrill; Gina and husband
Craig Rittenger; Brittany and Morgan Mullin; Katherine, Quinn
and Emily Conway; Tyler, Kaemon and Lindsey Hammons; and,
Matthew and Joshua Donaldson; two great-grandchildren Joshua
and Noah Rittenger; sisters Phyllis Broughton of Indianapolis;
Lois and husband Tom Warfield and Janice Smith all of Versailles;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by stepson Jerome Merrill; brother
and sister-in-law John and Ann Nickell; and brothers-in-law
Larry Smith and Bill Broughton.
Visitation will be today, Tuesday, April 3 from 5-8:00 p.m.
at Neals Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will
be held Wednesday, April 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mud Pike Cemetery, Osgood.
