Record crowned Miss Ripley County

Elizabeth Record is Miss Ripley County 2007. She was crowned Saturday night at a special pageant held at Jac-Cen-Del High School entitled, “Tropical Oasis.”

Record will now go on to compete in the Indiana State Fair Queen Pageant as a representative of Ripley County. She is from Batesville and is the daughter of David and Gloria Record. She is a recent graduate of East Central High School.

Twelve young women vied for the title by competing in private interviews, modeling professional wear and formal wear and on-stage questions.

First runner-up was Daniele Wiedeman of Sunman. She is the daughter of Scott and Shele Wiedeman and is a recent graduate of East Central High School. Second runner-up was Lacie Cain of Versailles, the daughter of David Cain and Catherine Beach. She is a recent graduate of South Ripley High School. Third runner-up was Brittany Joseph of Holton, the daughter of William and Shanna Joseph. She is attending Jac-Cen-Del High School. Fourth runner-up was Natalie Neal of Osgood, the daughter of Scott Neal and Regina Alcorn. She is a recent graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School. Amanda Hartman was named Miss Congeniality. From Sunman, she is the daughter of Marvin and Sue Hartman and is a sophomore at IUPUI majoring in Radiography.

All court members will be present at the Ripley County 4-H Fair as official ambassadors of the 4-H organization. Their responsibilities include participating in the fair parade, passing out ribbons at the livestock shows, assisting with the Pedal Tractor Pull, and handing out trophies at the awards program.
A special tribute was given during the pageant to last years queen, Amanda Harmeyer. Harmeyer is the daughter of Gerald and Melinda Harmeyer of Batesville. She graduated from Jac-Cen-Del High School and will be a sophomore at the University of Indianapolis.
