Money stolen from Batesville Day-Nite Mart

According to information from the Batesville Police Department an undisclosed amount of money was taken last week, Wednesday, July 25, from the Day-Nite Food Mart on SR 229.

Just before noon, police received a 911 call from the store clerk reporting that three black males had just stolen money from their office.

Police are looking for the suspects who are described as 1) black male, lighter colored skin, approximately 5’4" who was wearing an orange striped shirt, blue jeans and a black ball cap; 2) black male, larger build, who was wearing a blue and white shirt; and 3) black male, no other description.
The trio worked together with two of them distracting two store clerks while the third entered a back office and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

Witnesses saw a burgundy passenger car, with possibly an Ohio license plate, travel eastbound on I-74 from the scene. A similar vehicle was seen exiting the interstate at the St. Leon exit and traveled south on SR 1.
