Be a quitter and win

Cathy May, Contributing Writer

Attention smokers. Now that the cost of cigarettes has raised 44-cents a pack in Indiana, here is an offer you will want to take advantage of.

The Indiana Tobacco Prevention Cessation and Governor Mitch Daniels, INShape Indiana program are holding a contest. If you quit smoking for one month, from September 15 to October 15, you can win prizes including a $2,500 cash prize.

Here’s how to sign up. Boxes with sign up cards are located throughout the county: Ripley County Courthouse in the Auditor’s Office, Osgood Public Library, Milan Public Library, Sunman Town Hall, and the Batesville Memorial Library. Or you can enter online at wwwinshape.IN.gov and click on the “Quit2Win” icon.

You must be at least 18 years of age. All entries must be received by September 5.

“There has never been a better time to quit” has never been truer. For help in quitting smoking call 1-800-QUIT-NOW. This contest is held in cooperation with the Ripley County Tobacco Prevention Cessation Coalition.
