Michael Eugene Flint
Michael Eugene Flint, 36, of Osgood, passed
away on Sunday, August 26, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital
in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born on December 1, 1970 in Garland,
Texas, the son of Gene Arthur and Alene Cave Flint, and she
survives. He married Tammy Jo Sizemore on September 5, 1998
in Osgood and she survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Erin Michelle Flint
of Osgood; one son, Michael Dillion Flint of Osgood; one brother,
Gene Russell Flint, Sr., of Osgood; and one sister, Michelle
Louise Flint of Osgood.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1984.
Mr. Flint was a member of ABATE of Ripley County.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 30 from 5-8 p.m.
at Neals Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will
be held on Friday, August 31 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the family in care of the funeral
home.

Frederick H. Krieger, 87, of Batesville, passed away Monday,
August 27, 2007. Visitation is being held today, Tuesday from

25, 2007 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born on October
28, 1909 in Casey County, Kentucky the daughter of Alex and
Myrtie Ballinger Godbey. She was married to Roy Holt on November
19, 1927 and he preceded her in death on May 26, 1981.
Survivors include two sons Robert Holt of Columbus and Russell
Holt of Milan; 4 daughters Mrs. Virgil (Gladys) Walden of
Cincinnati, OH, Mrs. Donald (Ruby) McDonald of Milan, Mrs.
Walter (Pauline) Kurz of Marbelhead, MA, Mrs. David (Eva)
Cook of Indianapolis; one brother, Victor Cloral Godbey of
Cincinnati, OH; 27 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren;
34 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Raymond
Holt; one grandson and one great grandson; five brothers and
two sisters.
Mrs. Holt was a member of the Greensburg Nazarene Church.

Agnes Smith
Agnes Smith, 88, of Osgood, passed away Sunday,
August 19, 2007 at the Margaret Mary Community Hospital in
Batesville. She was born in Cincinnati on October 23, 1918,
the daughter of Fred and Agnes Niederhauser. She was married
to Grant Smith and later to Reginald Adamcezenski who preceded
her in death in 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Smith, William G. Smith
and his wife Shelley all of Friendship, and Douglas Smith
and his wife Shelena of Flippin, Arkansas; three grandchildren
and one great grandchild.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of the St. John Catholic
Church in Osgood.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials
may be given to the Activity Fund of the Manderley Health
Care Center in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home
in Versailles.
Jesse E. Phillippe
Jesse E. Phillippe, 81, of Versailles, passed away Thursday,
August 16, 2007 at the Dearborn County Hospital, Lawrenceburg.
He was born at Liberty, Kentucky on June 17, 1926, the son
of Jake and Nina Mae Owens Phillippe. He was married to Virginia
Durham on April 15, 1948 and she survives.
Other survivors include one son Jay Phillippe and his wife
Leeanna of Versailles; one daughter Rita Speigelhalder and
her husband George of Crothersville; grandchildren Megan and
AJ Phillippe and Jessica Speigelhalder; one brother JR Phillippe
of Clay City, Kentucky; four sisters, Gladys Emerson and Beulah
Williams both of Liberty, KY, Orpha Godbey of Carrollton,
Kentucky, and Norma Jean Ashley of Eubank, Kentucky.
His parents, his brother Janis Phillippe and his sister Anna
Bess Mandel, preceded him in death.
Mr. Phillippe was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member
of the Shelby Christian Church, Versailles American Legion,
and the Versailles Masonic Lodge. He was a bus driver for
the South Ripley schools and owned the Phillippe Oil Company
both for 30 years and was a feed sales representative for
Ag Land for 28 years.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 19 at 3 p.m. at
the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles with Rev.
Mark Walker of the Versailles Baptist Church officiating.
Masonic services were held by the Versailles Masonic Lodge.
Burial followed in the Cliff Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or
to the Shelby Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
Robert E. Smith
Robert E. Smith, 87, of Milton, Kentucky, died Friday, August
17, 2007 at Thornton Terrace in Madison. He was born in Saylor
Park, Ohio on August 6, 1920, the son of Harry and Alby Smith.
He was raised in Dillsboro.
He was a registered pharmacist having worked at the Dunbar
Drug Store and the former Inglis Drug Store both of Madison.
He was the chief pharmacist at Muscatatuck State Hospital
for 23 years and was a pharmacist at his parents drug store
in Aurora for 13 years. He was well known for his participation
in basketball in his younger years including being a member
of the Versailles Legion National Basketball team in 1947-1952.
He was a US Army Air Force veteran in WWII and was a member
of the Christ Episcopal Church of Madison.
Surviving are his wife Marilyn W. Smith and one son, Mark
A. Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and a twin
brother Alan Smith.
There will be no visitation, a private burial will be held
at a later date in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery
in Madison. Expressions of sympathy may go to Christ Episcopal
Church or the charity of the donors choice. Wood-Oakley Funeral
Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Geneva Ann West
Geneva Ann West, 79, of Moores Hill, passed away Wednesday,
August 15, 2007. Funeral services were held Saturday, August
18 at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill.
Ruth Ann Swinney
Ruth Ann Kamman Swinney, 77, of Osgood passed away Sunday,
August 19, 2007 at her home. She was born near New Marion
on October 16, 1929 the daughter of Walter and Leah Heitmeyer
Kamman. She was married to Edgar Lee Swinney on November 6,
1949 and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, David Swinney and his wife
Melinda of Osgood; one daughter, Lisa Ebinger and her husband
David of Holton; grandchildren Matthew Swinney and his wife
Bridget, Samantha Swinney and Rebecca Swinney all of Osgood
and Joshua Ebinger of Holton; great grandchildren, Austin,
Jeremy and Alexis Ebinger of Holton; one brother, Walter Kamman,
Jr. and his wife Sarita of Holton and one sister, Mary Thayer
of Osgood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Jeremy
Ebinger, brother John Kamman and sister Caroline Kamman and
her brother-in-law Wade Thayer.
Mrs. Swinney was a 1947 graduate of New Marion High School
and the Indianapolis School of Business. She had formerly
worked in the Anderson schools and for Allison. She was also
a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She was baptized
at the New Marion Baptist Church in 1945 and was a member
of the Hopewell Baptist Church. She served as president of
the Hopewell Missionary Society and was the secretary/treasurer
of the Hopewell Cemetery Association. She was also a member
of the Delta Rho Chapter of Tri Kappa and the New Marion Alumni
Association where she contributed to and wrote for the New
Marion Memories book.
Mrs. Swinney chaired a local committee to erect a statue in
the Versailles State Park commemorating the work of the Civilian
Conservation Corps. She loved being a wife, mother, grandmother
and great grandmother. She loved the country, the farm and
being a unique and wonderful servant of Jesus Christ.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 22 at 2 p.m.
at the Hopewell Baptist Church with Rev. David Shivers officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hopewell Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today, Tuesday, August 21 from 4-9
p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home, Versailles and
from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Memorials may be given to the Hopewell Cemetery or to the
Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Thelma Jackson
Thelma Jackson, 104, of Versailles, passed
away Sat-urday, August 11, 2007 at the Manderley Health Care
Center in Osgood. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January
30, 1903, the daughter of James and Jennie Doran. She was
married to Wilkie Jackson and he preceded her in death on
January 24, 1983.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hayes of Germantown,
Ohio; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother,
two sisters, and her son-in-law Hollie.
Mrs. Jackson was an 84 year member of the Ver-sailles Baptist
Church where she participated in the choir well into her 90s.
In her younger days she participated in a ladies accordion
group. She was a homemaker and a member of the Versailles
Chapter of the Eastern Star. She participated in many ac-tivities
at Manderley Health Care Center, including ball-room dancing.
When two members of the Prayer Shawl Ministry took her a special
prayer shawl for her 104th birthday, she was very hesitant
to have it wrapped around her shoulders for a photo. "That
will make me look like an old lady," she insisted. Her
youthful spirit remained even after she reached her 100th
birthday and beyond.
At her 104th surprise birthday party, she repeated many times
that it was "the best surprise I have ever had."
She enjoyed a special meal that day along with eight of her
Versailles Baptist Church lady friends and had her photo and
a story on the front page of the local newspaper.
Funeral services will be held today, Tuesday, August 14, at
2 p.m. at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Walker
officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in
Versailles. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 14 from 12
p.m. until time of services. Memorials may be given to the
Cliff Hill Cemetery or the Manderley Health Care Center in
care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.

Daniel Michael Cain, 52, of Versailles, passed away Thursday,
August 9, 2007 at Manderley Health Care Cen-ter. Private family

David R. Chandler
David R. Chandler, 66, of Cross Plains, passed away Sunday,
August 12, 2007 at the Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg.
He was born at London, Kentucky on April 14, 1941 the son
of Raymond and Nancy Proffit Chandler. He was married to Paulette
Samples on May 9, 1965 and she survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Eddie Chandler of Cross
Plains and David Chandler of Hamilton, OH; six grandchildren
including Russell Chandler of Hamilton with whom he spent
many special and happy moments; two brothers, Marvin Chandler
of Hamilton and Johnny Chandler of Corbin, KY; one sister
Enola Pearl of CA; also a special cousin Raymond Wyatt and
his wife Barb of Cross Plains; along with several other relatives
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son Jeffrey
Paul Chandler who passed away on June 15, 1996.
Mr. Chandler attended the Hamilton Public Schools and served
two terms in the Army, being honorably discharged in 1965.
He retired from Fisher Body in Hamilton in 1992 and moved
to his retirement home near Cross Plains in 1993 where he
enjoyed his time hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 16 at 10:30
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
Burial will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Dewberry
with the visitation held from 9 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be given to the Shriners Burn Institute in care
of the funeral home.

Cecilia I. Fink, 94, of Lawrenceburg, passed away Thursday,
August 9, 2007 in Shady Nook Health Center. Funeral services

Paul Lee Bay
Paul Lee Bay, 76, of Versailles, formerly of
Ohio County, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at his residence.
He was born at Newport, Kentucky on January 1, 1931, the son
of Elzey and Anna Jones Bay. He was married to Edna Bright
who preceded him in death and then was married to Joyce Hampton
Klusman on March 3, 2006 and she survives.
Other survivors include one stepson Mark Klusman and his wife
Ann of Versailles and one step-grandson Dominick Klusman.
Mr. Bay was a veteran of the Air Force and was a retired press
operator at Formica in Cincinnati. He was a member of the
Brushy Fork Baptist Church and the Mason, Ohio Masonic Lodge.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at 11
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Rev. Dewayne Swisher officiating. Burial will be in the
Crown Hill Memorial Cemetery in Cincinnati. Visitation will
be Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of services. Memorials
may be given to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.

John L. Reddish
John L. Reddish, 67, of Sunman, passed away Thursday, August
2, 2007, at his residence. He was born September 25, 1939
in Waveland, the son of Evelyn (nee: Rice) and William Reddish.
He married Patricia Andrews on October 14, 1962, and she survives.
Other survivors include three daughters, Gina Reddish Kern
of Milan, Gerri Reddish of Sunman, and Lanna Reddish James
of Speedway; four sisters, Mary Bruin of Indianapolis, Lois
Cloncs and Kathryn Marshall both of Crawfordsville, and Carolyn
Fullen of Brownsburg; two brothers, James Reddish of Rushville
and Don Reddish of Russellville; and five grandchildren. He
was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Reddish served in the marines from 1957-1960. After his
discharge, he opened the trucking company, Reddish Inc., and
was owner-operator for 42 years before retiring. He was a
member of the Sunman Bible Church.
Funeral services were held on Monday, August 6, at the Weigel
Funeral Home in Batesville. Burial was in the St. Pauls
Cemetery in Sunman and military graveside rites were conducted
by the Batesville V.F.W. Post #3183 and the Prell-Bland American
Legion Post #271.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Margaret Mary of the Hansen
Cancer Center. Arrangements were made by the Weigel Funeral
Home in Batesville.
