Raider Ben Montgomery dominates '07 Ripley Co.
Boys' X-Country Meet

A mild mannered young man of few words, South Ripley Raider junior Ben Montgomery, who has worked hard this past summer, surprised many with his winning antics after being presented the first place trophy. From his labors during the 2007 running of the Ripley County Boys' Cross Country Meet. Not a surprise to those who have watched Montgomery, he led all runners in the race from beginning to finish.
The time posted by Montgomery was 17:59. Finishing in second place some 21 seconds behind him was Batesville runner John Kreckler. Milan Indian speedster Josh Dickey narrowly edged into the third place spot due to an awesome spurt of speed to close and take the fourth place runner.
Both Indian Dickey and Zack Grossman of the South Ripley Raiders posted times of 18:34. The fifth spot was mastered by Batesville Bulldog runner Tyler Giesting in 18:59.
