At 6-0 the Milan Lady Indian JV captures '07 ORVC championship title

The JV volleyball match up between the South Ripley Lady Raiders and the Milan Lady Indians held at South Ripley Elementary School gym on Monday, September 24, resulted in a nip and tuck battle from beginning to finish.
The Lady Raiders won game one of the match with a 25-22 score. The Lady Indians responded in game two to take it by the same 25-22 score and tie the match at a game apiece.
The rubber game of the match went down to the wire with the Lady Indians narrowly escaping with a win for a 15-14 match victory.
The victory also locked the Lady Indians in for a championship ORVC title with a season conference recor unblemished at 6-0.
The Lady Indian varsity team also claimed a victory by 3 games to 1 over the Lady Raiders.

Coach Durham's Raiders run toward 3500 Club

In 2007, for a third straight summer, as a part of South Ripley High School's boys' cross country program, Coach Sam Durham has managed a 3500 minute summer running club.
For each 700 minute milestone reached, the runners receive an appropriate reward.
Over this past summer, three individuals participated in the club. They were Ben Montgomery who logged a total of 3,768 minutes, of which part were accumulated running in local 5K races. Steven Sieverding who ran for a total of 911 minutes and Andy Miller who managed to get in 811 minutes.
Both Montgomery above, and senior Erik Demaree, not pictured, join a special group of runners who have run 1000 miles or more during their high school careers.
Other standouts in the South Ripley 1,000 Mile Club include: Jeff Lauber-1974, Mike McNeelan-1974, Steve Allen-1977, Trace Tucker-1979, Ben Clift-1980, Mike Meisberger-1980, Jim Whitehead-1980, Bob Sexton-1980, Clint Giltner-1980, Todd Stutler and Gary Whitehead.
