Monday, October 8 is the day to get your tickets!

At 8:00 a.m. ticket sales will begin for the November 8 Simply Christmas Taste of Home Cooking Show. The tickets are available at Ripley Publishing Co. located at 115 S. Washington Street in Versailles. There is no limit on the amount you want to purchase and they will go fast for only $8.00 each.

The show is generating a lot of excitement as area businesses have joined with the Osgood Journal and The Versailles Republican to bring the exciting holiday event to Versailles.

Fourteen booths will be set up for attendees to browse before the show actually begins. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. giving plenty of time for shopping, eating, and getting free samples.

There's no need to cook supper before coming to the show. The Dabney Baptist Church will be offering chicken salad on croissants, BBQ sandwiches, along with drinks and homemade pies.

Many of the booths will have merchandise available to purchase so bring your wallet! You can get some Christmas shopping done, learn about making holiday food, and get free prizes all at the same time. Tri Kappa members will be offering their famous cheese balls and pecans for sale. Other food booths include Pampered Chef, Tasetfully Simple, Cali Fine Foods, Simplicity Gourmet and Historic Hoosier Hills promoting locally grown meat.

You can purchase Christmas gifts from booths such as A Touch of Country Floral, Mary Kay, Gold Canyon Candles, Longaberger and Tupperware.

Curves, a fitness center, will be on hand to remind us that all that great holiday food has to go somewhere. Exercise can actually give you more energy, prolonging your shopping experience!

The Friendship State Bank will also have a booth you will want to stop by.

The entire evening is designed to be fun and festive. Dana Elliott from Taste of Home will be giving a fantastic demonstration of holiday cooking. There will be numerous prizes given out including a variety of door prizes and bags of groceries. Everyone in attendance will receive a goody bag filled with merchandise and coupons for even more savings.

The event will be held at the South Ripley Elementary Gymnasium with the doors opening at 5:00 p.m. The show will start at 7:00 p.m. Seating is first come, first served.

Get there early, secure your seat, and then shop and enjoy dinner at the Dabney Baptist Church booth.
