ORVC Girls' Basketball Jamboree sets the '07-'08 season into motion

The ORVC Girls' Basketball Jamboree was held at the Jac-Cen-Del High School gym on Saturday, November 3,
Seven teams played, representing: Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels, Madison Shawe Memorial Lady Hilltoppers, Milan Lady Indians, South Ripley Lady Raiders, Switzerland County Lady Pacers, Rising Sun Lady Shiners and the hosting Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles.
Quarter One
The opening quarter of play pitted the hosting JCD Lady Eagles against the Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels. Valorie Wagner nailed the first FG of the night, to which Devin Brierly matched. Kaylin Ploeger netted a pair of FT's and Sarah Roth tied the game at 4. Brierly put Sw up at 6-4, but Kiersten Young sank the first 3 of the season to retake the lead 7-6. Brierly answered with a FG and teammate Kendall Withered got a FG to go up 10-7. Janine Huff sank a pair of FT's, before the Lady Rebels broke loose to a 21-9 win.
Quarter Two
Quarter two pitted the Lady Rebels against the Shawe Lady Hilltoppers. Shawe hit the floor without the aid of senior Maria Berry and the Lady Rebels played a second string of players. The final score was Sw 13- 11 Shawe.
Quarter Three
Quarter three's slate found Shawe against the Milan Lady Indians. Milan won 11-9.
Quarter Four
In quarter four, the Milan Lady Indians battled the South Ripley Lady Raiders. SR won 12-8.
Quarter Five
The fifth quarter of competition set the Lady Raiders against the Switzerland County Lady Pacers. SR won 12-10.
Quarter Six
Sixth quarter action between Switzerland County and Rising Sun's Lady Shiners ended with SC on top 18-13.
Quarter Seven
The final quarter of the Girls' 2007-2008 ORVC Jamboree action was between the Rising Sun Lady Shiners and the hosting Jac-Cen-Del Lady Eagles. Appropriately, as the evening had started, the action ended in a tie. The final score was 13-13.
