Milan police cars to have radio upgrades

Town Marshal Gary Skaggs requested an upgrade for the police car radios to the Milan Town Board at their November 19 meeting. The quote was for $12,069 with the cost of installation being $1,135 for a total of $13,204. Council approved the request. Money is to be paid from the Regional Revenue Sharing fund.

Town Manager John Ingram reported the smoke testing report came back. The town workers have been replacing fire hydrants and picking up leaves. All paving is now completed.

Several ordinances were passed. The Sidewalk Ordinance passed the final reading and was signed by council. The ordinance for rescinding the Monthly Tracker of Rates and Charges for water was passed. An ordinance to transfer funds was passed. An ordinance to amend the Unified Zoning Ordinance of Ripley County from R-2 to General Business was tabled until the next meeting.

Two of three town board members were present: Paul Hildebrand and Bob Branigan. Clerk-Treasurer Gladys Moody was present to advise the board.

The next regular meeting of the Milan Town Board will be December 10 at 6:30 p.m. at the Milan Town Hall on Carr Street.
