Christmas story comes to life

Members of the Church of Christ at Milan were busy Sunday evening getting ready for two special events at their church located on 719 E. Carr Street (past the Milan Elementary School) in Milan. The pictured actors were getting ready for dual roles, one for the pageant Sunday night, and the upcoming live nativity to be presented this weekend, December 21, 22, and 23 from 6-8 p.m. each evening. The public is invited to attend this special first time outdoor nativity the church has put together. The only live animal pictured is the llama, but come Friday, there will be a menagerie including sheep, donkeys, a cow and more. Refreshments of hot cocoa and cookies will be offered, while those attending will hear readings and songs pertaining to the season. Debra Walker noted that the live nativity is the church's way of giving to the community the "real" reason for Christmas.
