Many coaching changes in high school spring sports

With many high school spring sports' teams tryouts behind them, full fledged practices are in gear, preparing for season openers.
The South Ripley Raider and Jac-Cen-Del Eagle spring sports activities include Girls Varsity and JV Softball, Boy's Varsity and JV Baseball, Boy's Varsity Golf and Co-ed Varsity Track & Field along with Co-ed Jr. High Track & Field.
Earliest scheduled to contest in the new season for SR are the girls' varsity and JV softball & the Boys' varsity and JV baseball teams.
The Varsity Lady Raider Softball Team will open at home on Monday evening, March 31, as host to the Jennings County Lady Panthers. Game time is set for 5 p.m., with JV action to follow at 6:30 p.m.
The Raider Varsity Baseball Team will also open at home as host to the South Dearborn Knights on Monday, March 31. Game time is set for a 5 p.m. start.
However, the Raider JV Baseball Team will open their season on the road. A road trip to Oldenburg Academy to take on the Twisters on Monday, March 31 with a game time of 4:30 p.m.
Raiders under new lead
The South Ripley Raider Varsity Baseball Team will hit the field under the direction of Head Coach Rodney Hite. This years Raider JV baseball squad will also be led by new personnel as Shawn Halcomb has taken over that position.
The Lady Raider Varsity Softball program is under the management of new Head Coach Lindsey Payne. Ashlee Miller will open the new season as coach of the Lady Raider JV Softball Team.
This spring's Varsity Raider Boys' Golf Team will follow the lead of Head Coach Greg Huntington. Their first outing slates them in action at Hoosier Links Golf Course in Milan against the Jac-Cen -Del Eagles and the Oldenburg Academy Twisters with a 4:30 p.m. tee time.
Raider Varsity Co-ed Track & Field will again be coached by Sam Durham. Troy Mohr and Chris Clements are his assistants. Their first competition is set to be at South Ripley on Tuesday, April 1, with competitors East Central Trojans and Jennings County Panthers. Starting time is 5 p.m. for the onset.
The Raider Jr. High Co-ed Track & Field Team will follow the lead of Kendall Sheets, assisted by Barb Hensley and others. Their first outing pits them at Rising Sun in competition against the Shiners on Monday, April 7 at 5 p.m.
Eagles have new faces
The JCD Eagle Varsity Baseball Team will again hit the field behind Head Coach David Bradshaw. This year's Eagle JV Baseball squad finds Travis Rohrig as their coach.
The Eagle Varsity Baseball Team opens on the road at South Decatur against the Cougars on Tuesday, April 1, with a start time of 4:30 p.m.
The Eagle JV Baseball Team opens their season as the hosts to the South Decatur Cougars at JCD on Tuesday evening, April 1, with a 4:30 p.m. start time
The Lady Eagle Varsity Softball program is yet under the management of Head Coach Brian Samples, however the JV squad find Lisa Hughes under the coaching cap for them.
The Lady Eagle Softball Teams travel to Batesville on Tuesday, April 1, to take on the Lady Bulldogs in their season openers. The Varsity match begins at 5 p.m., followed by the JV contest at 6:30 p.m. (+/-).
This springs Varsity Eagle Boy's Golf Team will follow the lead of new Head Coach David Espinada. Their first outing slates them in action at the North Branch Golf Course in New Point, against the Milan Indians, with a 4:30 p.m. tee time on Tuesday, April 8.
The Eagle Varsity Co-ed Track & Field Team will be coached by Tom Hughes and new assistant, Andrea Carroll. Their first events are set at Lawrenceburg on Tuesday, April 1. The competition includes the Tigers, the Oldenburg Academy Twisters and the Madison Shawe Hilltoppers. Starting time is set for 5 p.m.
The Eagle Jr. High Co-ed Track & Field Team will again follow the lead of Matt Slaven and Flo Wagner.. Their first outing finds them at South Dearborn in competition against the Knights and the Milan Indians on Wednesday, April 2, at 5 p.m.
The Milan Indian spring sports agenda includes Girls' Varsity and JV Softball, Boys' Varsity and JV Baseball, Boys' Varsity Golf , Girls' Varsity Tennis, Co-ed Varsity Track & Field and Middle School Co-ed Track & Field.
Milan Indians prepare for '08 spring sports
The Milan Indian Varsity Baseball Team will again hit the field behind Head Coach Jeff Greiwe. Assisting Coach Greiwe are Glenn Lohrum and Jeremiah Loehmer.
The Indian Varsity Baseball Team opens the new season against the Jets at Hauser on Monday, March 31, with a opening pitch time set for 5 p.m.
The Indian JV Baseball Team opens their season on the road at Franklin County on Saturday, March 29, with a 10 a.m. starting time.
The Lady Indian Varsity Softball program is yet under the management of Head Coach Milton Teer. Assisting Coach Teer are Frank Haugh, Jeff Stutler and Don Barton.
The Lady Indian Varsity Softball Team opens at home against the Oldenburg Academy Lady Twisters on Monday, March 31, The game gets underway at 5 p.m.
The Lady Indian JV squad will be led by Coach Yatzie Roysden, assisted by Jim Bode. They travel to Batesville to face the Lady Bulldogs in a double header on Thursday, March 20. Game time is set for 4:30 p.m.

The Indian Varsity Co-ed Track & Field Team will again be coached by Todd Yates with Linda Swisher assisting. Their first events are set at Batesville High School on Tuesday, April 1. Competition their includes the Bulldogs and the Southwestewrn Hanover Rebels. Starting time is set for 5 p.m.
The Lady Indian Varsity Tennis squad, led by Coach Zach Wde will host the Madison Shawe Lady Hilltoppers for their aseason opener on Tuesday, April 1. Matches to get underway at 4:30 p.m.
The Indian Middle School Co-ed Track & Field Team will again follow the lead of Coach Mike Myers, who will be assisted this season by Brandy Lacey Their first outing finds them at South Dearborn in competition against the Knights and the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles on Wednesday, April 2, at 5 p.m.
The missing links of '07 teams spring sports teams thru graduation will be many as the new '08 teams hit the sport.
