Versailles Industrial Park plan approved

Attorney Neil Comer, representing the Ripley County Redevelopment Commission (RCRC) presented a Declaratory Resolution and Economic Development plan for the Versailles Industrial Park at the regular planning commission meeting held Wednesday, November 5.

Comer and RCRC President Barry Lauber requested approval of the resolution, stating that the plan for the area conforms to the plan of development for Ripley County. The request was unanimously approved.

Lawrence and Goldie Anderson requested primary approval for Eldorado Acres one lot agricultural subdivision in Dillsboro. Neighboring landowner Tamara Sheckler wanted to know the number of houses to be built on the property, and was told, one. The request for primary approval was unanimously approved.

Primary approval was unanimously granted for the Willow Brook Estates, owned by Quentin and Amy Bischoff and Scott and Denette Callahan, in Batesville. The request to vacate lots 1-4 was unanimously approved.

Sam Row, Osgood, requested that legal action be taken against William Fuchs to force clean up of the salvage yard. The commission directed Attorney John Ertel to proceed with enforcement action.

Executive Director Tad Brinson reported an increase in permits for single family dwellings from four in 2007 to eight in 2008; as well as eight surveys, one application for subdivision and one variance request.

All board members were present. The next planning commission meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 2 at 7 p.m. at the courthouse annex.
