In true David vs. Goliath tradition, brothers
Joe and Dave Herbert of Batesville, accomplished the nearly impossible.
As one of five finalists in the Doritos sponsored Crash
the Super Bowl commercial competition, the brothers won
$25,000 as well as Americas vote and had their entry Free
Doritos, aired during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February
1. The commercial featured a crystal ball.
In addition, for the first time in ten years, Frito Lay/Doritos
has the coveted number one spot in the USA Todays Ad Meter
poll. Garnering a score of 8.46 of a possible 10, the homemade
commercial bumped Anheuser-Busch to second place. This accomplishment
awarded the Herberts with an additional $1,000,000.
In addition, Joe and Dave Herbert will unveil a board game at
the Toy Fair in New York this month. Triviathon was ten years
in development, and according to Joe, It is a fast-paced
trivia game that anyone can win without knowing the answers.
Joe and his wife, Jayme, live in Batesville with their children,
Pierce, 4, and daughter, Kennedy, 2. Dave lives in Morris with
wife, Holly, son Adrik, 7, and daughters, Jazlin, 5, Nyah, 3,
and Onika, 1.
After the win, their response was, We are on top of the
world!
Who knows what the future holds for the brothers, whose lives
have already been changed by their success. Two years ago they
were also finalists in the Dorito challenge. After that, they
quit their respective jobs, and pursued the dream that came true
this past Sunday.
