Frances M. Lohrum
Frances
M. Lohrum, 74, of Versailles passed away Saturday, March 28,
2009 at the Dearborn County Hospital. She was born at Aurora
on May 22, 1934 the daughter of Carl and Anna Brandon Hankins.
She was married to John Lohrum on June 20, 1951 and he preceded
her in death on February 20, 2008.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie (Linda) Lohrum and Johnnie
(Helen) Lohrum both of Osgood; two daughters, Nina May (Ron)
McGill of Montgomery and Rebecca Ann (Doug) Hisel of Lexington,
Kentucky; ten grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; one
brother Carl Hankins of Dillsboro and one sister Falba Bray
of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her sisters Bertha
Seavers, Clara Belle Stonebreaker, and Martha Huffer.
Mrs. Lohrum was a homemaker and a member of the First Southern
Baptist Church of Versailles. She was a published author having
written the book "And Again We Were Two". She had
also written poetry and gospel music and had been a member
of the Family Tree Gospel Singers and had tried out to sing
on the old Midwestern Hayride. She also operated Ceramics
by Fran and had constructed dollhouses and small barns with
her husband.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1 at 10:30
a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
with Rev. Carter Corbrey officiating. Burial will be in the
Grandview Memorial Garden near Madison. Visitation is being
held today, Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter
Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the
food pantry of the Hopewell Baptist Church in care of the
funeral home.

Golda
C. (Carpenter) Dunn, 97, of Dillsboro, passed away Saturday,
March 28. 2009. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April
1 at 11 a.m. at Cross Plains Church of Christ. Burial will
be in the Salem Cemetery in Cross Plains. Visitation will
be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral

Adala
(Addie) B. Addison, 86, of Aurora and formerly of Moores Hill,
passed away Sunday, March 29, 2009 at Dearborn County Hospital
in Lawrenceburg. She was born November 12, 1922 in Owsley
County, Ky., the daughter of Elisha and Effie (Thomas) Bowman.
She married Dewey Addison on October 12, 1940 and he preceded
her in death on January 24, 1998.
Survivors include sons: William Dewey Addison of Lawrenceburg,
Jack Addison of Aurora, Kenneth, Robert (Bob) and Joseph Addison,
all of Moores Hill; daughters: Margie J. Short, Millie Plyman,
Brenda Clem and Kathie Sizemore, all of Aurora, and Letha
Hughes of Dillsboro; sister: Betty Bowman of Ohio; 25 grandchildren
and 40 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
husband and one brother, Thomas Bowman.
Mrs. Addison was a member of the Baptist Church and a former
nurse at both Milan and Dearborn County Hospitals.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 2, at 11 a.m.
at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home in Moores Hill with Rev. Mike
Addison officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery
in Moores Hill. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday

Dorothy Alice (Elston) McMackin, 91, of Moorefield, passed
away Thursday, March 26, 2009. Funeral services were held

Ruby Cutter
Ruby Cutter,
89, of Friendship, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2009 at
the Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Pleasant in
Switzerland County on November 4, 1919, the daughter of James
and Anna Fry Herring. She was married to Floyd Cutter on April
20, 1940 and he preceded her in death on December 23, 1988.
Other survivors include two daughters, Shirley (Jerry) Smith
of Milan and Judy (Gary) Stutler of Friendship; five grandchildren:
Todd (Dara) Stutler, Amy (Jock) Ralston, Scott (Amy) Stutler,
Travis (Sarah) Smith and Dustin Smith; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers
Garland, Roscoe, Howard, and Robert Herring, and her sisters
Hattie Gabler and Amy Herring.
Mrs. Cutter was a 1937 graduate of Vevay High School and was
a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Olean. She
was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 26 at 11 a.m.
at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Olean with Pastor James
Culver, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in St. Peters
Cemetery at Olean. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 p.m.
to 8 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles
and from 10 a.m. until time of services Thursday at the church.

Susan Ballmer
Susan Ballmer, 49, of Milan, passed away Sunday, March 22,
2009 at her home. She was born in Covington, Kentucky on October
14, 1959, the daughter of Jack and Eunice Rhodes Alexander.
She was married to Kevin Ballmer on December 10, 1983 and
he survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Josh (Kayla) Ballmer and
Tyler (Brandy) Ballmer both of Holton, and Nathan Ballmer
at home; three grandsons; two brothers, Jack (Patty) Alexander
Jr. of Batavia, Ohio and Mike (Teresa) Alexander of Walton,
Kentucky; her father-in-law Kermit Ballmer of Independence,
Kentucky and her mother-in-law Pat Cubert of Milan. She was
preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Ballmer was a 1977 graduate of Boone County High School.
She was a member of the Dabney Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She enjoyed crafts and scrapbooking.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25 at 10:30
a.m. at the Dabney Baptist Church with Rev. Mark E. Ballmer
officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery at
Elrod. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at

9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the church.

Ralph Radcliff, 83, of Versailles, passed away Friday, March
20, 2009 at the Christ Hospital in Cincinnati. Funeral services
were held Monday at the Butlerville Mennonite Church with
burial in the North Lawn Memory Garden at Westerville, Ohio.

L. Fuqua Hamilton
Robin L. Fuqua Hamilton, 51, of Madison, passed away Wednesday,
March 11, 2009 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
She was born on December 5, 1957, in Milan, the daughter of
Kenneth Robert, Sr. and Betty Davis Fuqua. She was united
in marriage on November 27, 1989 in Madison to Gerald L. "Jerry"
Hamilton and he survives.
Other survivors include daughters: Brittney Dannielle Hamilton
of Madison and Gerri Lee Hamilton of Elsmere, Kentucky; son:
Bradley Hamilton of Carrollton, Kentucky; her parents: Marvin
and Betty Davis Shadday of Madison; sisters: Mary Beth (Eric)
Weinshinker of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Jodi Johnson
of Madison; Paula (Michael) Bell of Newburgh; her loving brothers:
Marvin (Lori) Shadday, II of Morehead City, North Carolina
and Kenneth R. (Beth) Fuqua, II of Pasadena, Maryland; her
God Mother: Ruth Ann Wagner of Columbus; grandchildren: Marissa
and Tyler Baker, Bethany and Emalea Cosme-Hamilton; several
nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her father: Kenneth Robert Fuqua,
Sr.; her brother: Nicholas William "Nick" Shadday;
her niece: Kristiana E. Fuqua; her grandparents: Alma and
Erie Davis, James and Martha Fuqua, Dennis and Erma Shadday.
Mrs. Hamilton grew up in Osgood and moved to Madison in 1974.
She was a 1976, graduate of Shawe Memorial High School. She
had attended Indiana University South East studying to be
a teacher. She enjoyed playing the piano, collecting pigs
and angels. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic
Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 14 with burial
in the Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison. Memorial contributions
may be made to the Kidney Foundation or American Heart Association.

Brittany Nicole Combs
Brittany Nicole Combs, 19, of Milan, passed away on March
13, 2009. She was born in Covington, Ky., on July 8, 1989,
the daughter of Ronald Rollie Combs and Maxine Quicksall Combs.
Survivors include her parents; four brothers: Bryan Wentz
of Noblesville, Ronnie Combs of Brookville, Benji Combs of
Milan and Russell Wayne Combs of Salem, MO; one sister: April
McDaniel of West Harrison; grandmothers: Bessie Kelly of Richmond,
Ky., and Pauline Fugate of Covington, Ky.; and several aunts,
uncles, nieces and nephews.
Brittany was full of life and enjoyed traveling, music, technology,
friends and her beloved dog, Bandit. She obtained her GED
and was planning to attend IUPUI this fall. Brittany was employed
by Defender Direct of Batesville. She will be deeply missed
and loved by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, at 11 a.m.
at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Phil Hester
officiating. Visitation is being held today, Tuesday, from
6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hogan

Anita M. Akers
Anita
M. Akers, 97, of Seymour, passed away at the Lutheran Community
Home in Seymour on March 7, 2009 at 6:00 p.m.
Mrs. Akers was born on March 11, 1911, in Seymour, the daughter
of Wilber E. and Alma L. (Grelle) Brand. She was a 1929 graduate
of Shields High School and Indiana Business College. She married
Cecil Akers February 7, 1937. He passed away in January of
1975. She was a homemaker and as a secretary.
Mrs. Akers was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church,
its Missionary Society, Lutheran Child and Family Services
Auxiliary Community Concert Association. She volunteered for
many years for the Lutheran Community Home Auxiliary, Meals
on Wheels and Provisions, Inc.
Mrs. Akers is survived by two daughters; 5 grandchildren;
6 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Akers was preceded in death by her parents, husband,
and one sister, Helen Hornburg.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday,
March 11, at Redeemer Lutheran Church. Visitation will be
held on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at
the church. Burial will take place at Cliff Hill Cemetery
in Versailles.

Cora Martha Brewer
Cora Martha Brewer, 84, of Batesville, passed away Thursday,
March 5, 2009 at Heritage House Nursing Home in Greensburg.
She was born November 4, 1924 in Ripley County, the daughter
of William and Margaret (Voege) Jobst. She married Jimmie
Brewer on June 30, 1950 and he survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Rita (Dave) Wallpe
of Batesville and Carol Laker (Jim) of Oldenburg; four grandchildren,
Kate DellaRocco, Adam Laker, Nicholas Wallpe and Brian Wallpe;
one great granddaughter, Emma Laker; and one sister, Ada Weinrich
of Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by four brothers,
Chester, Nelson, Howard and Harvey Jobst.
Mrs. Brewer was a 1943 graduate of Napoleon High School. She
retired from Hill Rom in 1987. She was a member of St. Peter
United Church of Christ (Finks) and the churchs ladies
aid.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. at Meyers
Funeral Home in Batesville. Rev. Karyl Leslie officiated.
Burial was in St. Peters Church Cemetery (Finks). Memorials
may be given to Alzheimers Association or Hospice of
Decatur County. Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville was in charge
of arrangements.
David "Duff" Curtis Clarkson
David "Duff" Curtis Clarkson, 71, of Murphys,
California, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2009 after
a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 5, 1937
in rural Indiana, the son of William and Mildred Clarkson
and grandson of George and Alma Curtis, all of Versailles.
He married Pamella Clarkson and she survives.
Other survivors include four children, Candice Gilbert of
Fort Myers, Florida, Michele (Terry) Collins, William "Bill"
(Kathy) Clarkson and Randal Clarkson, all of Madera, California;
three stepchildren, Bridget (Steve) Ulatowski of Copperopolis,
California, Melissa Duarte of Arnold, California and Monty
(Shelly) Duarte of Colfax, California; eight grandchildren;
ten step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother,
Richard "Butch" (Carol) Clarkson of Idaho; and numerous
nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents
and grandparents.
Mr. Clarkson lived in Indiana until he moved his family west
in 1978. He worked most of his life in the food services industry
as a meat manager for Preston Supermarkets of Indianapolis
and for Big Trees Market in Arnold, California. He enjoyed
fishing and making wooden childrens toys.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 9 at Chapel in the
Pines Church in Arnold, California. Burial was in Buena Vista
Cemetery in Murphys, California. Memorials may be given
to the American Cancer Society, Calaveras Unit, 207 E. Alpine
Ave., Stockton, CA 95204. All funeral arrangements were handled
by Angels Memorial Chapel in Angels Camp, California.
Eula Mae Russell
Eula Mae Russell, 73, of Milan, passed away Friday, March
6, 2009. Funeral services are being held today, Tuesday, at
12 p.m. at Cook Funeral Home in Sunman. Burial will be in
St. Paul Cemetery in Sunman. Visitation will also be today
from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorials
may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Cook Funeral

Sara Ruth Wealti
Sara Ruth Wealti, 93, of Greensburg, passed away Wednesday,
March 4, 2009 at South Central Indiana Hospice, Columbus.
She was born October 24, 1915, in Osgood, the daughter of
James Henry and Augusta Brown Henneke. She married Felix Raymond
Craft in December of 1933 and he preceded her in death in
1969. She later married Edwin Francis Wealti in August of
1970 and he preceded her in death in August 2004.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews and also many friends
in McFarland, WI, where she made her home before moving to
Greensburg. She was preceded in death by five sisters: Helen
Henneke, Edith Hawley, Margaret Gibson, Evelyn Misamore and
Jean Nahre; and two brothers: Carl and Robert Henneke.
Mrs. Wealti was cremated and in her memory a memorial service
will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Neals Funeral
Home in Osgood, burial will immediately follow at Mud Pike
Cemetery near Osgood. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m.
until time of service which will be held at 10:30 a.m. Memorials
may be given to Mud Pike Cemetery in care of the funeral home.

Henley Lawburgh
Harold Henley Lawburgh, 80, of Milan, passed away, Sunday,
March 1, 2009 at Dearborn County Hospital at Lawrenceburg.
He was born December 2, 1928 in Walkertown, Kentucky, the
son of Charles Alvin and Isabelle (Fugate) Lawburgh, Sr. He
married Colleen Singleton Lawburgh on June 11, 1950 and she
survives.
Other survivors include son, James Harold (Linda) Lawburgh
of Milan; one brother, Charles Lawburgh of Milan, three grandchildren:
Chassie Baxter, Lindsey McDole and Christina Lawburgh; six
great grandchildren: John, Tyler, Brooklyn, Christian, and
Corey Halcomb and Trinity McDole; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Britt Godsey.
Mr. Lawburgh was a former employee of Lewis Farm Service,
Fernald, Baylor Trucking and he retired from Cincinnati, Inc.
He was a member of the Milan First Baptist Church, Milan Masonic
Lodge #31 F&AM; and Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2009 at
8 p.m. at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan with Rev.
Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the Craven Cemetery
in Milan. Visitation will also be Thursday, from 6-8 p.m.
at the funeral home. Masonic services will begin at 7:45 p.m.

passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in Hawaii. Funeral

David Edward Ashcraft
David Edward Ashcraft, 48, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly
of Aurora, passed away Monday, January 12, 2009 at his residence.
He was born November 13, 1960, the son of Robert and Marilyn
(Grathwohl) Ashcraft. He married Pamela (Fraasman) Ashcraft
and she survives.
Other survivors include son, David Ashcraft of Englewood,
Florida; daughter, Aften Ashcraft of Englewood, Florida; stepdaughter,
Nichole Phillips of Indianapolis; parents, Bob and Marilyn
Ashcraft of Milan; and sister, Lori Nickell of Indianapolis.
Mr. Ashcraft was a member of the Catholic faith. He was a
US Army Veteran and a carpenter by trade.
Private funeral mass was held on Feb. 27, 2009 at St. Charles
Catholic Church at Milan with Father Frank Eckstein presiding.
Burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery at Moores Hill. Laws-Carr-Moore
