ORVC
Recorder Noel Bostic steps down after seven years
Gary Franklin, Sports Writer
A gracious and honorable host, Noel Bostic, opened
the Rising Sun High School sponsored '09 ORVC Spring Sports
Awards Banquet for the last time as the ORVC recorder, a position
he has mastered for the past seven years.
In opening, Bostic welcomed athletes, coaches school staff
and guests, before leading the group in a blessing for the
buffet style meal catered by Old Town Catering Service.
Following the meal, honored athletes were presented their
awards for their respective sports as were "Coach of
the Year" award winning coaches for their respective
sport.
The ORVC (Ohio River Valley Conference) currently includes
seven schools, the Jac-Cen-Del Eagles, Milan Indians, South
Ripley Raiders, Rising Sun Shiners, Switzerland County Pacers,
Southwestern Hanover Rebels and the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers.
The high school varsity level spring sports honored at the
banquet were boys golf, boys baseball, girls softball and
coed track and field along with the school sports' year ending
points total winners in boys' and girls' sports.
Each of the specific spring sports All-Conference named team
members, (selected by coaches votes), are pictured in this
issue of the Osgood Journal..
