South Ripley Lady Raider golfers open their '09 season with a fifth player

Gary Franklin, Sports Writer

Last year's Lady Raider fall golf team season was played with only a four member team, adding extra burdens on the team as each game day came. Particularly because a team score in a match requires a four person score total. Without four scores, no team score could be counted in the match.

Individual scores would count, but no chance to earn a team placing.
That meant every scheduled game, every girl had to be there and a high score could not be dropped at the end of the round, nor the fifth players score determine a winner in the case of a tie.

Proudly, this year's Lady Raiders have included a fifth member to their squad, bringing a sigh of relief.

Coached once again by Greg Huntington, the Lady Raider golf team includes: Lakin Davis, Hannah Carlock, Kaitlyn Black, Jessica Osborne and a new member, Shannon Adkins.

The Lady Raider golfers compete next at Springhills, on Thursday, August 13.
