Personnel at the Osgood Journal and The Versailles Republican newspaper office have been cooking up a deal. Not only will they, along with other major sponsors host the Taste of Home Cooking School made easy on November 19 at the South Ripley Elementary School, but they are offering additional opportunities for our readers to take advantage of this holiday season.

First, don’t miss the cooking school where there will be many booths with cash and carry items. Tickets are going fast, but some are still available in the office of Ripley Publishing Co., 115 S. Washington Street, Versailles, for only $10.00 each. You can also call and have our friendly staff mail these tickets to you by calling 812-689-6364 and use your credit card for payment.

On sale now at the newspaper office are two great Taste of Home cookbooks you can purchase for the low price of $20.00 each. Taste of Home Winning Recipes is a hardcover, 5-ring binder book, with 645 prize-winning recipes from Taste of Home National Recipe Contests. All are easy to make with step-by-step directions.

Also available is the 2009 Taste of Home Annual Recipes hardback book for $20.00. This is a compilation of 500 plus recipes from the Taste of Home issues from 2008, all in one easy bound book. Plus there are additional bonus recipes not found in the magazines. Both cookbooks have color photos of the recipes.

Another item for sale are the Taste of Home calendars for 2010. You can choose from a variety of themes such as “Garden Dreams,” "Country Churches," "Birds and Bloom," “Bridges,” and more. The calendars make excellent Christmas gifts and are only $8.00 each.
