Arrest
warrant issued for Holton man after police find working meth lab

The Ripley County Circuit Court issued an
arrest warrant yesterday, January 11 for William “Woody”
Baker, 33, of Holton, for Manufacturing Methamphetamine, a Class
B felony.
Baker remains at large following a raid of his home at 753 N. County
Road W in Holton on December 30. On a Jennings County warrant, police
searched the residence of Baker and found more than they bargained
for.
“There was a working meth lab,” Ripley County Sheriff
Tom Grills told the Osgood Journal. Police also seized numerous
stolen firearms and stolen car parts from the residence.
According to information from the Ripley County Prosecutor’s
Office, the investigation began with the Jennings County Sheriff’s
Department obtaining information that stolen property was located
at the Baker residence. The Indiana State Police Emergency Response
Team along with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office responded
to the Holton residence.
Police seized numerous stolen firearms and high performance auto
parts. An investigation began last September concerning the stolen
auto parts that led police to the Baker residence. The stolen items
had been taken from a Geneva Township home in Jennings County.
Officers from the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office allege that
Baker is a major meth supplier to their area. They have been conducting
an intense investigation with information that the stolen car parts
were traded for meth.
While serving the initial warrant out of Jennings County, officers
noted what appeared to be signs of methamphetamine production in
the form of a lab located at the residence. A second search warrant
was issued for the Baker residence concerning the meth production.
The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team was called in to process
the scene, clean-up and for safety assessment. Neighbors noticed
police activity throughout the night on December 30 and into the
morning of December 31.
Paperwork was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office last Friday,
January 8 and an active warrant was issued for the arrest of Baker
on Monday, January 11 where he is charged with several felonies
concerning the incident at his home.
Baker was not at home at the time of the raid and remains at large.

Arrested at the home of Baker on December 30 was Destiny Reeder,
18, who was taken into custody on a failure to appear warrant out
of Jennings County.
