South Ripley Raider Bowling Coach Ron Pollard is proud of South Ripley junior Marty Porter as he advances to the State Bowling Tournament.

The South Ripley Raider Bowling team has improved each year since its inclusion into the South Ripley available sports venue and with Porter’s experiences elevating hopes, looks great for future bowlers.

No team members of this year’s team will graduate this spring, meaning this season should be a solid stepping stone for the upcoming season.

Porter has unexpectedly bowled his way through the Muncie Regional and the Richmond Forty Lanes semi-state, during his press for a state championship title.

He will now head to Anderson to Cooper’s Sport Bowl on Saturday, February 20 at 2 p.m. where he is one of only 18 of the qualifying 1372 bowlers that began the march to the state championship. Porter is the son of Nancy and Marty Porter Sr. of Versailles.

The finals will be televised on Comcast/Brighthouse “On Demand”. The show will be available to 450,000 homes with 3-4 replays the following week on Channel 81. For more information you can go online:www.ihsb.org.

Pollard has been involved in the bowling business for years and has his own set of accomplishments. He and his family have operated Pollard’s Bowl in Versailles for many years.
