It has been said that music soothes the soul. The music concert goers will hear music that will do that as well as help a local grief support group as they benefit from the proceeds.

The Collingsworth family is one of the premier gospel music groups and will be in concert at the Hopewell Baptist Church Sunday, April 11 at 4 p.m. The concert is being sponsored by the Circle of Love Grief Ministry, a local group that helps people heal after they have had a tragic loss.

The Collingsworths, Phil and Kim, and their four children, will delight you with their musical talent as they sing and play a variety of instruments. This is an exciting award-winning group with spiritual anointing, family-emphasis, and musical excellence is one group you don’t want to miss.

This concert features full family ensembles, trios, violin music, trumpet, and of course, Kim’s signature piano artistry.

The Collingsworth’s ministry actually began in 1986 when they were both in college. Phil, a graduate of God’s Bible School & College, Cincinnati, and Kim, a graduate of Union Bible College, Westfield, combined their talents and have become an outstanding group, that now includes their four children.

The group’s newest full-scale studio project, “The Answer” was released in September, 2009, includes their 12th national radio single, “Bottom of the Barrel”. This was written by Phil and promoted to radio by Crossroads Records. They also released a “first” in the Christian music industry, filming two full length music videos at Music Hall in Cincinnati, the home of the world-class Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. According to information from the Collingsworths, the filmings were the first Christian concerts ever to be filmed at a major symphony venue.

The group has been nominated and awarded numerous awards over the years. They have multiple releases, including videos and have made the Top 40 Hits chart over and over. They were awarded Breakthrough Artist of the Year in 2006 as well as Musician of the Year from Ovation Awards. They received Musician of the Year and Special Project of the Year awards from Ovation Awards last year.

This musical group will warm your heart as they present with a humble spirit the talents they say God has given them.

Tickets are available at MainSource Insurance, Osgood; Gilpin’s Monuments, Versailles; Rainbow Books, Greensburg; and can also be bought at the door the day of the concert.
