work together to offer square fun in Versailles

This Saturday, June 26 will mark the 17th year for the Annual Ripley
County Chamber of Commerce to sponsor their 5K Run/Walk.
The event will kick off a day of activities at 8:00 a.m. on the
square in Versailles. Registration for the event will be $10 if
postmarked by June 25. This includes a T-shirt.
The day of the race the cost will be $15.00. You can register on
race day from 7 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. in front of the Ripley County
Chamber of Commerce office on the east side of the square in Versailles.
There are seven age groups for walkers and runners. There will be
an age group for those 13 years of age and under, 14-18, 19-29,
30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. The top three in each age
group will receive a gold, silver, or bronze medal.

Members of the Versailles Lions Club will be up early Saturday morning
getting their chickens on the grill. This is the 44th year the Lions
have held their famous chicken barbecue. They will be serving quarter
chicken dinners from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on the square.
The classic cars will be rolling in throughout the day for the 12th
Annual American Legion Post #173 car show.
The square will be a bustle of activity with music being played
that might transport you back to the time some of the cars were
made. Its a great family fun event that allows you to participate
or be a spectator. |
