Moores Hill women killed in tragic accident

An accident on Chesterville Road in Dearborn County has claimed the lives of two women from Moores Hill.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department said the accident occurred Saturday, August 21 about 4:50 p.m. where both drivers, Abigail Redwine, 23 and Misty Bressert, 39 died at the scene of the head on crash.

A nine-year old passenger in the Bressert vehicle was treated and released for injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash is still under investigation by the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office.

Abigail Redwine or “Abbey” as she was known to her family and friends, was born October 26, 1986 in Media, PA to Gordon and Annette (Stamey) Redwine, who survive. She graduated from El Toro High School in Lake Forest, CA.

Redwine moved to the Moores Hill area about six years ago and was employed as an escrow clerk with the Friendship State Bank in Friendship.

She was described as having many friends and was loved by everyone wherever she went. Abbey enjoyed riding quads, playing soccer, and driving her gray Ford F150 4-wheel drive pick up truck, which was her pride and joy.

Redwine was very close to her brother, Tanner, who is in the Marines and stationed at Camp Lejeune, NC. The two were described as “best friends”. Friends of Abbey noted she was worried sick when her brother was on recent tours in Iraq and was in constant contact with him.

Funeral services for Redwine will be held Thursday, August 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship with Pastor Sherman Hughes officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 25 from 5-8 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bear Creek Baptist Church in her memory. Arrangements are being handled by Filter-DeVries Funeral Home, Dillsboro.

Misty Bressert also died as a result of the head-on collision. She was born January 3, 1971 in Lawrenceburg.

Bressert was a 1989 graduate of South Dearborn High School. She attended the Versailles Baptist Church and was a Team Mom for the South Dearborn B-Ball Crusaders. She is described as a person who “lived for her family.”

Bressert was employed in the office for the Campbell-Hausfeld Foundry, where she worked for several years.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel R. Bressert of Moores Hill, and three children, all at home: Kory, Makenzie and Lane.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora. Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, August 25.
Memorials may be made to the Bressert Children Trust Fund through the funeral home.
