The 2010 JCD Lady Eagle golf team led by Coach Chad Pindell continues to perform well. Their most recent accomplishment being the winning of the 2010 ORVC Annual Girls Golf Tournament.
They collectively captured the team trophy on the Hoosier Links Golf Course in Milan on Saturday morning, September 4, after shooting a 420.
A bit cooler than most meets have been, as it began in the a.m. hours. The girls played their 18 hole competition well enough to win it as Samantha Walke shot a 98, good enought to tie for Meet Medalist honors.
The teams collective total (i.e. four players required to score for a team score) tallied at 420. Other team member scoring included: Tori Gilland @ 101, Brooke Gilland @ 105, Emily Huntington @ 116 with Meagn Hughes round at 124. (The fifth golfer's score is sometimes counted when a tie breaker is needed).
Second place went to the Milan Lady Indians with a 521 count, followed by the Switzerland County Lady Pacers at 556.
Lady Indian scores included: Tati Marsee @ 107, Samantha Stabile @ 126, Devin Riley @ 139 and Katie Huffman @ 149. Teammate Paige West ended her 18 hole round at 162.
The Switzerland County Lady Pacer team was led by Karoline Park @ 109. SC's team score included Reyes @ 146, Roland @ 149 and Hall @ 152. Teammate Dye finished @ 154.
The South Ripley Lady Raiders were represented by Shannon Adkins in individual competition with a round at 111. The Madison Shawe Lady Hilltoppers too had a single entry in Hannah Roberts, closing her round of 18 holes as runner-up Meet Medalist with a 99.
The Southwestern Hanover Lady Rebels fielded only two golfers for the meet. Haley Garrett finished her round as co-Meet Medalist @ 98 while teammate Reeves closed @ 149.
ORVC member, Rising Sun has no girls golf team representative this year.
After shooting the first nine holes the lady golfers grabbed a drink and a hot dog before continuing to complete their 18 hole match.
While scores were tabulated, the girls enjoyed chips, a drink and a hamburger.
