                  Rose Jachimiak
                  Barbara Rose Jachimiak, 82, of Versailles, passed away Monday, 
                  October 25, 2010 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital, Batesville. 
                  She was born April 23, 1928 at Lackawanna, NY the daughter of 
                  Anton and Helen Szucs Malovich. 
                  Survivors include sons, Joseph Carl Jachimiak of Brooklyn, NY, 
                  James Stephen Jachimiak of Franklin, and Peter (Angie) Jachimiak 
                  of Versailles; daughters, Mary Barbara (Anthony) Korcz of Chaffee, 
                  NY, Jan Louise (Jack) Stevens of Indianapolis; brothers, John 
                  Malovich of Elma, NY, Joseph Malovich of Stafford, NY, Stephen 
                  Malovich of Alden, NY, and Paul Malovich of South Jordan, UT; 
                  sisters, Helen Prezyna of Strykersville, NY, and Kathryn Holmes 
                  of Alden, NY; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; 
                  and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death 
                  by one brother, Anthony Malovich and one grandson, Daniel Jachimiak. 
                  
                  Mrs. Jachimiak had been a writer for Ripley Publishing of Versailles 
                  and was also editor of the Osgood Journal and The 
                  Versailles Republican in the late 1980s. She was a 
                  member of St. John's Catholic Church in Osgood and a past member 
                  of Southeastern IN Regional Soil & Water Commission. Barbara 
                  had also written a book on St. Magdalene Catholic Church of 
                  New Marion and was a member of St. John's Ladies Society of 
                  Osgood. 
                  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30, at St. John's 
                  Catholic Church of Osgood, with visitation from 9-10 a.m. with 
                  the funeral immediately following. Burial will be in the church 
                  cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Right to Life of St. 
                  John's Church. Neals Funeral Home, Osgood, is in charge 
                  of arrangements.
                  
                  Jana Ann Fisse Mason Hoffman
                  Jana Ann Fisse Mason Hoffman, 55, of Hanover, passed away Sunday, 
                  October 24, 2010 at Kings Daughters Hospital, Madison. 
                  She was born December 8, 1954, in Milan, the daughter of Robert 
                  S. and Hope Hooton Fisse. She married Robert Mason on July 13, 
                  1974 and he preceded her in death in 1986. She later married 
                  Paul Hoffman.
                  Survivors include daughters, Jessey (Jon) and Hana (Jesse); 
                  son, Jarrett (Becky); granddaughter, Maizey; her parents, Robert 
                  and Hope Fisse; brother Jeffery Fisse (Anne); nephews, Andy, 
                  Sam and Derek (Kendall); Godmother, Ruth Hunger; many aunts, 
                  uncles, cousins and friends.
                  Mrs. Hoffman was baptized on January 16, 1955, confirmed in 
                  1969. She graduated from Valparaiso University and the Paralegal 
                  Institute in Philadelphia. She was a member of Faith Lutheran 
                  Church in Madison, where she served as the church secretary 
                  and in many other ways. 
                  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 30, at 2 p.m. 
                  at the Faith Lutheran Church, Madison, with Pastor Jeff Pflug 
                  officiating. Private burial services will take place at Grandview 
                  Memorial Gardens, Madison. Memorials may be given to the Multiple 
                  Sclerosis National Research Institute, contribution cards are 
                  available at the funeral home. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 
                  Madison, is in charge of arrangements.
                  
                  Tyler Moore
                  Tyler Moore, 67, of Osgood, passed away Sunday, October 24, 
                  2010 at Columbus Regional Hospital, Columbus. He was born April 
                  17, 1943 at St. Helen's, KY, the son of Arch & Norena Crouch 
                  Moore. He married Jeanette Lee Abner on June 4, 1966 at Vada, 
                  KY, and she survives. 
                  Other survivors include daughter, Kathy Darlene (Mike) Fasbinder 
                  of Greensburg; brothers, Dillard, Willis and Archie Lee Moore 
                  all of Beattyville, KY; sisters, Cleta Palmer of Franklin, OH, 
                  Geneva Stamper of Carlisle, OH, and Mary Miller of Osgood; and 
                  granddaughter, Mikaela Lynn Fasbinder of Greensburg. He was 
                  preceded in death by two brothers, Bert and Ronnie Dale Moore; 
                  and two sisters, Brenda Stamper and Alta Quicksall.
                  Mr. Moore was an Army Veteran and a past member of Osgood American 
                  Legion. He had worked 44 years at Print Pack of Greensburg as 
                  a plate maker. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 761 S, 
                  Graphic Communications International Union.
                  Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at Neal's 
                  Funeral Home, Osgood. Funeral services will be held Friday, 
                  October 29, at the funeral home with burial in St. Johns 
                  Catholic Cemetery, Osgood. Memorials may be given to the St. 
                  John's Cemetery. Military graveside services will be provided 
                  by the Osgood American Legion and the Napoleon VFW. Neals

                  Virginia J. Lunsford
                  Virginia J. Lunsford, 77, of Batesville, passed away Wednesday, 
                  October 20, 2010 in Oldham County, Kentucky. Funeral services 
                  will be Saturday, October 23 at 3 p.m. with visitation from 
                  1-3 p.m. all at the St. Leon Church of Christ. Burial will be 
                  on Monday, October 25 at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.

                  Hiram J. Baker
                  Hiram J. Baker, 88, of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, October 
                  19, 2010 at the Manderley Health Care Center in Osgood. He was 
                  born at Manchester, KY, on November 5, 1921, the son of Kenus 
                  and Sarah Allen Baker. He was married to Naomi Thomas on November 
                  8, 1952 and she survives.
                  Other survivors include son, Ken (Kim) Baker of Aurora; two 
                  grandchildren, Phillip Baker of Connersville and Emily (Corey) 
                  McDerment of Madison; two great grandchildren; one sister, Edith 
                  McIntosh of Hamilton, OH; two brothers, Clayton Baker of Bloomington 
                  and Ed Baker of Cincinnati, OH. He was preceded in death by 
                  his parents, his brother David, and sisters Sudie Reed, Rhonda 
                  Davis, and Thelma Dunn.
                  Mr. Baker was an army veteran of WWII where he was stationed 
                  with the 497th Medical Collecting Company. He served at Normandy, 
                  Northern France, the Ardennes, and in Central Europe. He was 
                  honorably discharged from the army on December 2, 1945 and received 
                  the European Theatre Ribbon with five bronze stars, the American 
                  Theatre Ribbon, the Good Conduct Ribbon, and the WWII Victory 
                  Medal. 
                  Hiram was a former employee of the Ripley County Farm Bureau, 
                  an agent for Prairie Farmer Insurance, and was a sales rep for 
                  Booher Sales Associates. He was a member of the Versailles Baptist 
                  Church, Osgood Masonic Lodge, and the Versailles American Legion.
                  Funeral services will be held Friday, October 22, at 11 a.m. 
                  at the Versailles Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Cantrel officiating. 
                  Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles with 
                  military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. 
                  Visitation is being held today, Thursday, from 5-8 p.m. at the 
                  Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 10 a.m. 
                  until time of services on Friday at the church. 
                  The Osgood Masonic Lodge will conduct services at 7:30 p.m. 
                  on Thursday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to 
                  the Versailles Baptist Church building fund in care of the funeral

                  Billy Ray Cook
                  Billy Ray Cook, 69, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away Monday, 
                  October 18, 2010. He was born June 10, 1941, in Milan, the son 
                  of Floyd and Goldie (White) Cook. His wife of 50 years, Barbara 
                  (Ashcraft) Cook, survives.
                  Other survivors include daughters, Brenda (David) Barr of Greenwood 
                  and Beth Richardson of Columbus; brothers and sisters-in-law, 
                  Jim and Sally Cook and Tom and Sally Cook, both of Milan; four 
                  grandchildren; mother-in-law, Mildred Ashcraft; many aunts, 
                  uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded 
                  in death by his parents.
                  Mr. Cook was a 1959 graduate of Guilford High School and 1963 
                  graduate of Hanover College. He then accepted a National Defense 
                  Fellowship to Oxford University where he earned his Master of 
                  Science degree and he began his Doctorate studies in 1965 specializing 
                  in coordination chemistry.
                  In 1969 he accepted a position with Chemical Abstracts in Columbus, 
                  Ohio. During his 40 years there he received a CAS Merit Award 
                  and published several articles in inorganic chemistry. He was 
                  a member of the American Chemical Society and Sigma Xi National 
                  Scientific Society. 
                  Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 24, at 2 p.m. 
                  at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, Milan, with Pastor Shawn McMullen 
                  officiating. Burial will follow in the New Craven Cemetery, 
                  Milan. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until time of services 
                  at the funeral home on Sunday. 
                  Memorials may be given to the Cancer Society or to the Athletic 
                  Department of Ohio State University. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral

                  James G. Gross
                  James G. Gross, 72, of Versailles passed away Tuesday, October 
                  19, 2010 at his home. He was born at Carrollton, Kentucky on 
                  July 22, 1938 the son of Oscar and Edna Wingham Gross. He was 
                  married to Patsy Hamilton on September 26, 1959 and she survives. 
                  
                  Other survivors include two sons Marty (Tammy) Gross of Versailles 
                  and Jonathan Gross of San Diego, California; one daughter Lori 
                  Beverly of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, 
                  and five great-grandchildren; two brothers Winston (Kay) Gross 
                  of Madison and Joe Gross of Louisville. He was preceded in death 
                  by his parents and his brother Tom. 
                  Mr. Gross was a 1956 graduate of Central High School in Madison. 
                  He owned and operated Gross Oil Company in Versailles for 29 
                  years. He had also been employed with the Pearl Packing Company 
                  in Madison and Butternut Bread in Versailles. 
                  Funeral services are being held today, Thursday, at 1 p.m. at 
                  the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Canull officiating. 
                  Burial will be in the Grandview Memorial Gardens at Madison. 
                  Visitation will also be Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of 
                  services. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society 
                  or the Diabetes Foundation in care of the funeral home.
                  
                  Susan Diane Lombardo
                  Susan Diane Lombardo, 57, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, passed 
                  away Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at the University of Kentucky 
                  Medical Center in Lexington, KY. She was born January 21, 1953, 
                  in Milan, the daughter of the late Bill Shultz and Barbara Stout 
                  Shultz. 
                  She is survived by her sisters, Vicki (David) Bryant of Osgood, 
                  Bev (Larry) Anderson of Williamsburg, KY, Cathy Barnes of Pinellas 
                  Park, FL, Lisa (Zachary) Schmidt of Hernando Beach, FL and Monica 
                  (Otello) Vizcaino of Plant City, FL; brother, Josh (Stephanie) 
                  Astarita of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandsons, Hayden Lawson 
                  Lombardo and Nathaniel Lombardo; several nieces and nephews; 
                  and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded 
                  in death by her son, Jason Lombardo.
                  Susan was a retired police officer from St. Petersburg, Florida 
                  and a member of Wofford Missionary Baptist Church.
                  A memorial service was held Saturday, October 16, at the Croley 
                  Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bobby Bunch officiating. Memorials 
                  may be given to the Knox/Whitley Animal Shelter in care of Bev 
                  Anderson, 233 Bays Lane, Williamsburg, KY 40769.

                  Roberta L. Giblin
                  Roberta L. Giblin, 98, of Batesville and formerly of Milan and 
                  Moores Hill passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at St. Andrews 
                  Health Campus in Batesville. She was born February 4, 1912, 
                  at Mt. Sinai, the daughter of Charles and Edna (Cotton) Craig. 
                  She married Richard A. Giblin on June 23, 1934 and he preceded 
                  her in death on January 19, 1981.
                  Survivors include daughter Betty Hartig of Batesville; grandchildren, 
                  David Russell of Moores Hill, Kim Russell of Indianapolis; great 
                  granddaughter, Sara Russell; nieces, Mrs. Robert (JoAnn) Riesenberg 
                  of Cincinnati, OH and Mrs. Paul (Sheryl) Voss of Batesville; 
                  nephew, Gary (Lisa) Giblin of Aurora; brother-in-law, Freeman 
                  Giblin of Batesville; and many great nieces and nephews.
                  Mrs. Giblin was a homemaker. She was a member of the Moores 
                  Hill Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.
                  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 23, at 12 noon 
                  at Sibbett-Moore Funeral Home, Moores Hill, with Pastor Ted 
                  Hamrick officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery

                  Catherine Beauton Malray, 91, of Milan, formerly of Dillsboro, 
                  passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Ripley Crossing. She 
                  was born September 2, 1919 in Weakley County, TN, the daughter 
                  of Jess Rushing and Fronie (Byars) Rushing. She married Thomas 
                  Malray in 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1990.
                  Survivors include daughter, Tracey (Dan) Egbert of Milan; 12 
                  grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; and son-in-law, Bill 
                  (Wadie) Bateman. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 
                  two children: Carol Bateman and Tommy Malray; one grandson: 
                  Jarred Egbert; three brothers and one sister. 
                  Catherine was a homemaker, a retail sales clerk in bridal sales. 
                  She was active in the Bethel Baptist Church in McKenzie, TN.
